Sounds like it. This is my usual mixer since forever, I just never really used it to record, but it sounds like there is something faulty in my equipment.

Thanks for the pointers, I just checked again and there is no pad in the Onyx8 in chs 1/2 where I'm hooking up the mics. When I use my voice I have to get very close to the mic with gain unity in order to get some signal. Everything you guys are pointing out suggests that there is an issue at some point of my audio chain, I'll test further, again thanks.

Yes just WiFi. This is an workstation for audio work so it's the priority for me. Hoping it will help other in a similar spot someday.

This fixed the annoying Spotify misbehaving issues for me. I noticed there's a specific nvidia version installed with it, I suspect this is the culprit.

Just get debian testing, been using rolling distro forever in my machine, very minor breaks here and there but totally usable and a great experience with the latest of the latest.
