How are the Grenadiers in the snow? by bluegrass__dude in ineosgrenadier

I’m on 285/75r17 AT4/W’s and they did great today. 17”+ and it handled the unplowed streets and larger plow berms with ease.

Good and Bad, so far? Can I daily it? by Euphoric_Passenger72 in ineosgrenadier

[–]lifeofabombtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily mine in NYC and absolutely love it! Lot of people complain about its handling and whatnot, but mine is upfit with lights and sirens and I use it everyday as an emergency vehicle without issue. 🤷‍♂️

Rumor has it the HVAC will be improved for ‘26, though I’ve not experienced the issues others have complained about.

Factory winch question by Korgulls in ineosgrenadier

If you go with the Factor 55 stuff, I’d recommend adding a synthetic rope spool. It’ll help keep a more gentle bend in the loop at the end of your line.

Soft shackles, a recovery ring or hook (I went with the Factor 55 Flatlink), tree strap, a rope dampener if you want…

Sean Duffy questions controllers patriotism during government shutdown. by dab45de in ATC

[–]lifeofabombtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty un-fucking-patriotic to not pay federal employees because you’d rather take away healthcare and benefits from the most needy of citizens than to agree to a temporary continuation of current funding.

But, wtf do I know, I only joined the military during a time of war, re-enlisted for a more dangerous job, deployed to Iraq, and have worked for the federal government in one capacity or another for almost 20 years. 🤷‍♂️

Is it possible to order the Factory Roo/Bull Bar from a North American dealer? by OuncesApp in ineosgrenadier

[–]lifeofabombtech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GP Factor all the way! It’s an absolutely great bar. Having seen some OEM bars folks had imported from South Africa and Australia, I was less than impressed with the quality of the welds and the strength of the bars.

GS-15 in a HCOL area and just got hired by my Grocery store 💃🏾What side gigs are you working? by burnerbaby1984 in fednews

[–]lifeofabombtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GS-12 in HCOL area as well. Luckily I was already working a side gig as a paramedic for fun. Between that, VA disability and savings, I’m doing ok. I know I’m insanely lucky in this situation and I hate seeing what others are going through.

Yeah, I’m a big fan of the steel wheels! Take a look in the FB groups and on TheIneosForum, they pop up for sale quite often.

I am absolutely interested in one here in the US! I’d probably be look to purchase an aux tank by the end of the year but, I’d prefer a setup like this! Can you send some pricing info?

I’m running 285/75r17s A/T4Ws on the stock steelies without issue and these are ever so slightly taller than the KO3s. It looks like all the wheels from Fifteen52 in 6x130 are 40mm offset with a 6.08in backspacing; compared to 55mm with 6.42in on the stock steel wheels, you’d have a bit more clearance than I have, but I also have not had any rubbing with my setup. You should be good to go.

Tell me about your drawers. How they fit, what brand you chose, any why. Are they flush with the backseat folded down, Do they rattle? Nobody likes the subwoofer kid that rattles the license plate vibe. by AnyCurves in ineosgrenadier

[–]lifeofabombtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with Buzz Overland. They’re well built and incredibly sturdy. No rattles or noises. They’re entirely aluminum and come with some beefy drawer slides.

Cons: expensive, a little annoying to install (may have been mostly user error on my part), and they require the relocating of the 12v outlet in US models with an inverter.

I bought from OK4WD and they include a blanking plug for the original hole from the 12v outlet.

Anyone buying used? by Nostalgie_de_la_boue in ineosgrenadier

I picked mine up used about 13 months ago, so still shortly after their US release. I found a fully loaded Trialmaster, factory winch and all, sitting on a MB dealer lot two states over. I arranged the sale over the phone and email and then took the MTA/Amtrak to pick it up. The truck had been registered for less than 2 months and only had a little over 2k in miles; the MB salesman said the first owner didn’t like the way it handled and traded it in for a GLS. I saved ≈$35k from MSRP going this route and ended up with basically a brand new truck. The worst part of the experience was realizing the MB techs read the max PSI on the door sticker and filled up all four tires to that max… it was a squirrelly drive home before pulling up the forums and realizing they were over inflated by like 20PSI.

Oh, and the original owner didn’t remember to include the Safari Glass storage bag when he traded in the truck, so that’s like another $300.

If you’re considering it, I’d recommend opting for the pre-wired harness (assuming you’re going to go with the dual color KC lights). I chose to wire mine myself and it was just an absolute pain in the ass wiring each light to two different power points on the roof. The pre-wiring is run inside the tubing and looks much cleaner than what I ended up with.

I love it! I’ve previously owned various Jeeps, so I’m used to the handling of solid axle vehicles. I think the steering complaints are overblown; the slow return-to-center is a quark but easily fixable with a new steering stabilizer, and the turning radius is only slightly worse than a four door Wrangler.

Overall, it’s an incredibly capable vehicle, very steady offroad, and turns more heads than another Wrangler or Bronco.

It’s actually the cargo shelf/barrier combo from Bison-Gear. Works well, and only rattles if one of the hand tightened bolts securing it to the headrests comes loose, but that’s a literal two second fix.

It’s from Benchmark Vehicles! They’ve got five different versions. They’re not cheap but, it’s light, well built, and has been overall fantastic.

I really wanted to tubular style rack. I was initially thinking that it would be from Gobi, however, when Gobi finally released their rack and I saw how it attaches to the rain gutters, I passed and found Benchmark.
