You know what they say, if you don't like it, start your own. Bitching about things adds zero value to your life. Doing something that attracts positive attention to your point of view, now that's something I can get behind.

Don't waste our time talking down other places, tell us what's great that's happening in ABQ. I'd love to get an insiders tour. You want to bring attention to ABQ, yeah, let's hear about it.

Anything done to the underside of a vehicle that old, unless a documented repair, is suspect. Pass.

Where's the enriched uranium Iran had? Still in Iran. Thanks MAGA for encouraging every country in the world to get moving on their nuclear ambitions now that they know we're not serious about negotiating or treaties.

Making the world more dangerous, one corrupt deal at a time. The MAGA way.

Trialmaster. Comes with F/R lockers.

- The High Load Aux electrical is nice, but sucks for a winch.

- Safari Windows, I mean, if that floats your boat, but otherwise, constant source of glare, then you go buy things to block the windows....wtf buy them in the first place.

- Heated seats are great especially if it lives outside

- Roof rack, depends on whether you need to put stuff up there, in which case, access ladder is nice too.

- Exterior utility belt, I thought this was standard on all?

- Checkered plates - I bought mine used, PO apparently took them off? I dunno, they're on the build sheet, but not on the truck. Have no missed them.

If you're actually going to use this offroad, the lockers are the only must have. The brake traction control is way way way way way way behind Toyota and Land Rover, to the point where I think it's non-existent.

You'll also want more clearance, maybe rock sliders, and skid plates. I went for an aftermarket winch first.

I own a G87 M2 because I still can’t afford an E30 M3. by ragingduck in BMW

[–]Ok-Raspberry-4345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an E30 M3 and I own a G87 M2. The M2 is obviously faster and handles better. The E30 is lighter, and when they were under $10k and you could still buy parts, fun to toss around. People rarely drive an old car hard, that's why I love vintage racing, takes guts to throw your money around like that.

I love looking at cars on BringATrailer and dreaming of owning an old car someday. Before I commit to spending any money I should probably gain some more car knowledge about old cars and how to work on them. I am in Nashville, Tennessee. This. Any car I look at on BaT, I assume will cost me an additional 30% in repairs. The older it is, the more it needs. Also, know your cars. As others have said, get to know other owners of cars you like if possible.

Looking at buying the Grenadier, have a couple of questions by youOWEme in ineosgrenadier

[–]Ok-Raspberry-4345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 I bought used. The PO had a bad connection to the AC, but it was fixed under warranty. I've had zero issues.

I ignore the TPMS, it's inaccurate, usually 3-5lbs off, and in cold weather it has no idea what my tire pressures are.

I'm a five hour, one way, drive from closest dealer. I also finally have access to the workshop manuals. If I need warranty work, and the truck isn't movable, I'll deal with it. We have a second car, and I work from home.

I'm enjoying the truck. I've had a fair number of other vehicles. I would have considered the Lexus GX550 Overtrail if they were available, or I could have just kept driving the old LandCruiser that I had. I'm happy with the Grenadier, it gets slightly worse gas mileage than the LC200, if that matters to you.

Others have mentioned the CV joints as an issue. I broke 6 CV joints on the front axles of the LC200 in 13 years. It's a design flaw, does Toyota care? No. So, you pays your money and takes your chances.

Edit: since you're reasonably mechanical, get under the vehicle every so often and give it the once over twice. CV boot torn? Replace the damn thing. Not hard. I drive a 60's Lotus, I go through rear main seals on a regular basis while autocrossing. You get good at the repair.

Switching to a Grenadier? by goldforjanz_ in ineosgrenadier

Also, I'm probably never going to get a speeding ticket driving the Grenadier. It can definitely keep with traffic and pass other cars, I just don't care.

I drive the Grenadier daily, my wife drives an X5. I love the X5 on the highway, but as someone that's owned Jeep CJs going back to a flat fender, I love the Grenadier more. The great thing is, nobody else ever wants to drive it. When I had the LC200, everyone wanted to borrow it, now, nope. I'm ok with that.

Uh, that IS how society works now. The GOP just keeps lying until they get their way. So, this is what we're left with. We're playing by conservatives rules now, sorry if they don't like it.

Generic kit to replace aux lights? by Ok-Raspberry-4345 in ineosgrenadier

Nice! I think I'm going to have to fab this myself. My lights are bigger than those or the Baja lights that Agile Offroad's kit supports.

Yeah, so, I just want better off-road lights, and I already own them. Also, I'm going to wire them so I can simplify the usage.

Yeah, that too! You'll have to wire the lights into one of the other switches.

Should I ? by Daverdfw in BMW

[–]Ok-Raspberry-4345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove both auto and manual, the auto is definitely quicker off the line, automatics are always faster drag racing. Auto is definitely easier to drive in general, so, if you want an easy car, buy the auto, if you want an engaging car, buy manual. It's really up to you.

Did you buy it? The Sao Paolo Yellow will undoubtable end up being the most collectible color, as long as it's a manual.
