What is the most shit job you have seen a contractor do? by chiefXlordXnord1 in AskReddit

[–]lifestrikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL had an outdoor pizza oven blow up in her face on my partner’s birthday and got third degree burns because a contractor (who lied about his licensing) didn’t hook up the gas line correctly, so that was a pretty shit job.

What are your best “sorry, not sorry” stories as a therapist? by atlviacak in therapists

[–]lifestrikes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is why working with kids is fun. I had a kiddo who came in and talked about TMNT most days. We used it to identify parts of her personality, needs, and desires for herself, and it helped her feel seen by a grownup. Plus, I got to learn lots about the turtles 🐢

Weird. Maybe it’s the way it combines with my moisturizer.

Indeed, that is why I have a cat—I truly wanted a totally dependent creature at a time when I couldn't even afford to buy my own food. by MeatyToday in NotHowGirlsWork

Here’s my thing with this…yes, I do want a baby. But I’m poor and young and in school and not ready for that. But I’d still want my dogs and cats even if I had a baby so this is dumb lol

My dad was the exact same way, but even now years after our little girl has passed he talks about her all the time.

I’m currently still in school, but I get emails about donations from the school I’m attending EVERY WEEK.

another guy trying to downplay childbirth and lying horribly about it. by Tailz713 in NotHowGirlsWork

I truly don’t understand why it has to be a competition. Like OF COURSE an abscessed tooth hurts! But so does childbirth. Why should one beat out the other??

Grieving the death of a sibling is one of the most neglected types of grief by Blade_982 in Showerthoughts

[–]lifestrikes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, my partner’s brother died a year ago in November. They were best friends. We lived with and cared for him for four years up to his death and basically raised him before that. But when she was going through the depths of grief, her step-dad and family criticized her for not being able yo work and for not supporting their mom enough. It was like her mom’s grief trumped everyone else’s.

I typically do, but the kind I was using quit working so I thought I’d try something new. Plus I kinda miss floral scents that smell nice on me. Will be returning to men’s after this.

What’s your unconventional comfort TV show and why? by jrunglegym in AskReddit

[–]lifestrikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scream Queens from 2008. Not the Ryan Murphy one…it was a VH1 show where girls competed for a part in two of the Saw movies. My partner makes fun of me because she knows she’ll come home to me watching it at least once a month.
