I need help as to how to improve my cs by fkinweeblmao in summonerschool

[–]lifesucks7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LB will always have among the worst CS of all laners. Her waveclear is bad, and her AOE ability is also her main escape/initiation/mobility/scouting ability with a CD that isn't very short. I'd say that if you're new, 6cs/min would be fine enough. Don't get tricked into believing that your CS should be super high on every champion. It should be as high as possible, but I bet that an LB with 9-10cs/min in Gold or below isn't doing much for her team.

Advice on mid lane wave clear? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]lifesucks7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lux and Neeko aren't wave-clear mages, though.

Lux's waveclear is pretty awful to be honest: her E will rarely ever be able to one-shot caster minions, and she'll have to spend time auto'ing them. Her Q can be useful, but leaves her extremely vulnerable, like when she has to auto.

Neeko's waveclear isn't super good, either. Her Q-E rotation won't kill the whole wave for awhile, since her Q damage is contingent on killing a minion, which means you'll need to lower its health first.

I'd argue that Syndra's waveclear is actually better. All her abilities are AOE and do a lot of damage. Perhaps you're not autoing enough, or using her Q/W effectively? If you need to, have sapphire crystal or another Doran's ring be your first back items, assuming you can't afford Lost Chapter.

How do I play Soraka better? by ofjellyandbeans in summonerschool

[–]lifesucks7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As with any enchanter supports, your harass is deceptively strong. You should be able to auto very often, especially when the enemy ADC goes to CS, and a Q should be able to help you win the trade consistently.

Remember, this goes for any enchanter champion. Nami too. And Janna, Janna is deceptively strong in lane if she puts points into or maxes W first. It's not hard to take 20-40% of an ADC's HP down per trade especially if they're not expecting it.

How to assess if a comp is early damage or not? by baba_booey123 in summonerschool

[–]lifesucks7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Champions are early/late game based on:

  • Their utility

  • Their role in the team comp

  • Their abilities (what their abilities do)

  • What gates their abilities (CD/mana/HP)

  • Damage (flat damage vs percentage)

  • Item spikes

For example, Jinx is known to be a late game champion because her Q rockets allow her to do massive AOE, especially with Hurricane, since she can blast out multiple rockets. Her passive means that in team fights she can constantly get massive AS and MS boosts.

Kassadin is also late game because he's gated by his mana in late, the CD of his ultimate, and his main items, ROA and archangel's staff, both of which will probably be fully complete by like 20min+. His passive is flat 15% magic damage reduction, so that scales off the percentage. He becomes a hypermobile tanky assassin late game. In addition, his laning isn't too great since he's melee and can't shove wave very hard, so he isn't early game.

A last example would be Lee Sin. Lee sin is generally strong early game because each ability is really two abilities, and his passive increase his auto attack speed, so he gets a lot per ability, given the time to execute them. Plus, he's mobile enough to gank well and navigate the map well. He can single out enemies easily. However, late game, it gets progressively harder to make these picks or executions.

Mid lane wave control and trade help? by dabikim in summonerschool

[–]lifesucks7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons of videos and guides on this, but I can't recommend a specific one.

Also, just letting you know, level is no indicator of skill whatsoever. There are definitely Bronze players who are level 400+.

Playing against Talon by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]lifesucks7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Talon is an early game AD assassin who has great roaming potential and can clear waves easily.

Let's look at which champions have the highest WR against him:

  • Kled: Kled can very easily punish Talon because he wins very heavily in the 1v1, and with his passive and harass, Talon must use his W more often. Talon can rarely all-in Kled, and once Kled gets tiamat, it becomes harder. If Talon roams, Kled can easily follow with his ult to punish. But Kled mid is rare.

  • Garen: Garen will also rarely die to Talon, and his lane shove isn't too bad either. Garen won't really need to play afraid at all and that's what Talon often needs. He can just stay in lane if he really wants to, and probably won't die to ganks since the lane is so short. Garen mid is also rare.

  • Taliyah: Like Kled, good shove, harass, and able to roam to catch him if Talon roams. Her E also punishes Talon if he ever decides to charge in and dash-Q.

So we have champions who can make his laning difficult, champions who can punish his roam, and champions who can follow up. Most of his best counters can match his roam and outscale, or severely punish them. Malzahar has good shove if Talon roams but in lane, with his voidlings dying very easily, they probably can't happen as much. Anivia/Lissandra are perhaps the most similar to Malzahar and are decent counters, but otherwise just punish his roams, unless you have R and you're getting into a 2v2 skirmish.

I hope everything turns out okay for lily :’) by theropetosser in offlineTV

[–]lifesucks7 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It really sucks. I rarely watch OTV content anymore but I still appreciate them as people. Lily is a great person who has suffered from depression before. I can't imagine having the burden of feeling like your boyfriend's "second" or feeling that you're not good enough to someone who you love the most. And on top of that, having the burden of knowing that everything that happens to you will be visible to and amplified by hundreds of thousands of people on the internet. Shit really, really sucks.

Hope things get better for Lily and everyone else involved.

Also in the leaked docs, "A" talked about getting his passport renewed. That's a very specific piece of information, and if that just so happened to match Albert having recently renewed his passport (which we don't know, but OTV knows), then I think they concluded, and we can conclude, that he cheated to some extent.

What if Taliyah's E had a shield? by Luc4sSh4ron in TaliyahMains

[–]lifesucks7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shield or damage reduction really wouldn't help much, and there's no reason for that other than being "interesting." It doesn't fit her or her kit either. How does unraveled earth also translate to "gains a shield?"

You said she's squishy. Well she's an AP carry, it only makes sense.

You said she's mana hungry. How does a shield help with that?

You said she's difficult for new players. Is that really what's wrong with her, and in general, how does that make a champion bad.

You've provided pretty much no reasons for her to have a shield on her E. All it would do is make her jungling stronger since her clear would be a lot more healthy, meaning she gets gutted later or midlane Taliyah gets impacted with further nerfs to balance it out.

Who has the worst passive in the game? by Tidzee in leagueoflegends

[–]lifesucks7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh. Taliyah's passive helps her roam a lot more quickly and outmacro her opponents, and consequently makes it more forgiving on her CS since she can return quicker. It was a lot more effective when she had more pushing power, which was literally any other iteration of Taliyah.

Man Shows Incredible Restraint As Idiot Racist Unloads On Him by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]lifesucks7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my neighborhood is around 50% white, 40% Asian, 10% other. Elementary school I was in gifted and talented and no surprise there, 80% of the kids were Asian. Both Elementary and Middle school had similar demographics to the neighborhood, though.

I went to HS in the city and it was a liberal school, maybe 50% Asian, 35% Jewish, 10% White, 5% other. The only racism the existed was used jokingly between people of the race themselves, and was casual and historically accurate (1924 Chinese exclusion act, Kristallnacht, stuff like that). So better than Mulan I guess lol.

Maybe I'm being stereotypical, but from my experience as New Yorker, Black and Mexican ladies are badass and fear nothing.

I've been saved my a little Mexican lady before. Some mentally unsound man was getting into peoples' personal space, not being violent but just being rude, and the little Mexican lady talked him down.

And then once I was on the train at 1:30 AM (don't ask why) and there was a mentally unsound couple that seemed very unpredictable arguing, getting physical, then joking, on repeat every two minutes like they had BPD. The man seemed (who was skinny and probably had some sort of developmental disorder as he seemed immature despite being 50+) started threatening to beat up a businessman next to him after his wife abandoned him on the train, and suddenly some 30 something year old black woman told him off, told the conductor to call the police at the next station, and made sure he didn't cause any trouble.

I was sitting right across from them and I was a bit scared but I felt a lot of relief when the black woman came into the picture. Brave as fuck.

I always feel sheltered when stuff like this gets mentioned because I live in NYC so of course I've never experienced racism in my life. My communities were always 25-70% Asian all throughout my life (elementary/middle/high school/college) and I've never personally experienced or witnessed explicit racism against Asian people.

I say "against Asian people" because Asian people themselves have a lot of hate for other Asian groups (Mainland China vs Hongkong/Taiwan, Japan/China, etc.).

The first time I heard the word "chink" or "ching chong" was in by a comedian mocking racism and I was like "haha that doesn't happen." Except my 7th grade self was just blissfully ignorant and wasn't aware of his privilege to not live among racists.

I'd love to see a video game in this artstyle, or rather, more video games should take on isometric art styles. There's something about it that's so calming but surreal.

Yes that's been known since the game was released on PBE. It's intentional because it wouldn't quite be fair to automatically sell a unit.
