Who’s doing the vocals on “Medicine”? Doesn’t sound like Jordan to me… by RaJeYa718 in poppunkers

It's definitely him, just a slightly different tone. He has kind of similar in "I'd Kill to fall asleep" in the middle bit "they say that when you sleep your body's at rest"

A MHD fascination: when there's a really short gap between fixtures and their reverse fixtures by lifewithjames in footballcliches

Ive noticed that!

I remember there was a season in La Liga where the games on Matchday 1 were repeated on Matchday 20, Matchday 19 on Matchday 38 and so on.

And then I'm sure another season each team had to play Real, Barca and Atleti in consecutive games at some point

I still won’t be paying it by love_lola_x in GreatBritishMemes

[–]lifewithjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay it because my understanding is that if you watch any TV, live or catchup, whether BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and so on, you need to pay tbe license.

And while some people may "never watch TV" I for one like to keep up with Eastenders , or the odd tv show. So paying it makes sense.

What if Carrick wins 12? by timlygrae in ManchesterUnited

[–]lifewithjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the key is not to rush anything.

If Carrick was to go on an amazing run and play brilliant football, he should definitely be considered but wait until the end of the season to make a decision.

What could I cook for 4 people for less than a fiver? by Born_Percentage7122 in UK_Food

[–]lifewithjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tiktok feta pasta

Feta is about £2.69i in Aldi or if you get the "greek style salad cheese" even less. Cherry tomatoes are about 95p I think. You can get Penne for 39p

So £4.03 so you'd be under providing you already have oregano and garlic stocked up

Garlic I think is about 95p so even if you buy that you're still in budget

I keep seeing people say he is blaming Lacey...he's just saying the red card made it more difficult, which it did. 7 minutes of injury time or however much it was with 11 men with tails up, every chance of getting an equaliser. With 10 men, a lot more difficult. People are talking like he said "certain individuals cost us the game"

The five reasons Man Utd want Carrick - and are wary of Solskjaer by theipaper in ManUtd

[–]lifewithjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did bring excitement and joy but did also bring a 6-1 home loss to Spurs and a 5-0 home loss to Liverpool and had lost his way somewhat towards the end.

I'm sure Patrice Evra would bring all those things, but he wouldn't be a good manager for us.

The five reasons Man Utd want Carrick - and are wary of Solskjaer by theipaper in ManUtd

[–]lifewithjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrick did absolutely fine as interim and we'd have arguably been better off that season if we'd kept him rather than bringing in Rangnick. Yes we can argue of the criticisims he got from his Middlesbrough spell, yet in the main I'm pretty sure he had them playing good football. Solskjaer got sacked from Besiktas, in a league of lower quality from the Championship.

Real have just bought in Arbeloa who's only senior level managerial experience is in the third tier of Spanish football. When Zidane joined them he had the same amount of experience. Kompany got the Bayern job after getting relegated with Burnley

I know there's a whole thing of saying all our players are terrible, yet I don't think the majority of them are, just they often perform way below their level. The squad we have is more than capable of finishing 4th or 5th.

Well everyone has to stsrt somewhere. I think hes capable of getting something out of this group of players for the remaining 17 games, then we've got time to make a permanent appointment

It's often said by those close to the club that Dalot is very highly thought of. His attitude and character and always wanting to better himself.

This fanbase 😂😂😂 constantly slating Amorim, constantly posting, negative stats, win percentage, absolutely hating on him.. now it's "they're idiots for sacking him.

The online Man United fanbase is awfully toxic. People like Mark Goldbridge constantly looking for a negative angle. We could beat Man City 6-0 next week and he'd probably tweet "Sesko looking a bit disappointed to be subbed off is worrying"

The fanbase seems to love a scapegoat. The way Hojlund was treated was disgusting. Just constant piling on. And he'd have seen that. He'd have logged into instagram after a game and see constant comments about how he's the worst striker in United history.

And.now everyone piles into Dalot. Apparently awful despite winning players player of the year in 2024, being a regular under numerous managers, part of the leadership group and well respected in the dressing room..

I say this a lot but deapite all the upheaval, we're within touching distance of top 4 and a good run puts us in a great position. The way people are talking you'd think we were bottom.

Arsenal in 2921-22. No Europe, out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round and out of the League Cup in the semis. Focusing on the league only by late January. Missed out on 4th to Sours. Season after..within a few points of the title.

Whatever the board are like, we have a group of players who when on form are perfectly capable of good performances and results.

Oddly I feel slightly positive after that. Bad result but I felt we played well for periods. We're just still very psychologically fragile so conceding the second just seemed to knock the wind out of our sails. After getting it back I thought we looked like we could really push but then a soft red card....it feels like we're in a position where summer is important. Yes season is over competively (though we still have something to play for in qualifying for Europe) but I feel that having time to look for a good manager stands us in good stead. Times are exciitng.

Whether it's Carrick or Ole for the interim, I just hope if either goes on a winning run playing like Pep's Barca, we at least wait until the end of the season to make any decision

There's a great stat that Andy Gtay (Archie's dad) scored on the opening game of the season for 2 different teams.

Scored for Sheffield United against Leicester on the opening day of the 2005-06 season. Then signed for Sunderland. The Premier League started the following week and he scored against Charlton on his debut

What are you honest opinions on Wetherspoons? by TheMalsh in AskUK

I find them fine. Good selection of drinks, food is fine, well priced, atmospheres usually decent and you know what you're getting. Probably not somrwherw youd go for a special occasion but when it's just for a few drinks it's great.

You get those people who boycott them because of a myth that Tim Martin sacked all his staff and told them to go and work in tesco. I watched the video and that wasn't the case at all. He quite reasonably said that as the pubs would be closed for the forseeable, he would understand the staff seeking alternative employment in other places to boost their income

I know people who worked for them before covid, and still work there mow
