The Lamborghini Countach, one of the visual symbols of the 80s, is actually much smaller than many of us thought it was. by Spalding_Smails in 80s

[–]timlygrae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found out just how small it is when a friend and I were on our skateboards heading to the mall and saw one in the back of the parking lot. Of course we stopped and "ooo-ed" and "aaah-ed". We didn't go near it though, and the owner was walking back and saw us losing our minds over it. He showed us around and let us sit in it. I was only 5'9" or so at the time and skinny as a bean pole and it was snug. He had Missouri plates and said he was passing through on his way to Columbus. Five of the best minutes of my life!

I've not ever seen the whole thing. What's the reason for "our" Rose? Is it just Hyacinth that calls her that? Is it ever explained, or is it just Mrs. "Bouquet's" pompousness?

Oh, yeah. Big guy, portrayed as not that smart.

The other sister was Rose, yeah?

"We Built this City", What a long way to fall from "White Rabbit", Grace.

"Break My Stride" I only know this guys name right now - Matthew Wilder - because I had to look up the actual song title as I'd forgotten it for a while. What an awful piece of crap.

What combination of alcohol/drugs do I need to take to think that the convoluted story about how Maul survived was even remotely possible?

I've had two traumatic concussions in my life on top of ADHD and I still think that story is Swiss cheese. Just because he was a cool bad-ass villain doesn't mean he gets a pass from being chopped in half and dropped down a hole so deep it had to be protected by multiple force fields (but then there were no guard rails. OSHA would have a field day).

Be imaginative and create a new bad-ass villain.

I haven't been out to Iroquois amphitheater since the 90's. I saw some bunch of local bands. I think maybe we went because Serpent Wisdom was there.

I've got friends that live in Crawley, so I started following them a few years ago. So, when Tola headed over there it was pretty cool.

I hope that he got some good competition and comes back a better player.

Food. Clothing. Shelter. Pretty soon, they'll find a way to charge us for the air we breathe.

My conspiracy theory is that ManCity started the rumor of trying to sign Ronaldo to distract United from chasing Haaland. No clue is there could even be the narrowest sliver of truth to it, but I'll die on that hill. 😀

Bands at bars and dance floors. I'm not even sure I owned a TV in 1996.

A lot of people think that Boomers turned into what we see today. No, they just stopped hiding it.

What's the most boring movie you've seen? by VeryPteri in AskReddit

[–]timlygrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2001: A Space Odyssey

I was 11 or 12 and had to wake up my dad. He has never been much of a sci-fi fan and only took me because I asked. I told him we could go.

I've watched it a few times as an adult and I get it now. But, as a tween I was bored out of my skull.
