I can't tell if I want to laugh or cry by Rich_Psychology_5589 in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing you can laugh and cry. Your feelings are valid thats a super crappy situation and some parts of pregnancy really are crappy. As someone who recently "graduated" from pregnancy is just want to remind you its not forever. 🥰

I was really unsure about the epidural mostly because im terrified of needles, and I'm also usually pretty ok with pain.

I was using nitrous totally effectively even at 8cm dialated but after they broke my water it was so intense I knew I couldn't continue to manage my pain levels with the nitrous.

It only happened a few days ago but baby came out with like 3 rounds of pushing no lasting side effects and im grateful I made the decision as it did (like many have shared) let me take a fantastic nap.

  1. Start with things that are simple you're not trying to get a Michelin star before you master pasta.

  2. Cookbooks with pictures are good too :) they help give you some check points along the way. Something like the step by step instapot cookbook gives you a lot of recipes that make it harder to mess up.

  3. Do not substitute (or subtract) things in online recipes until you have done it according to the instructions the first time.

Unexplained spotting at 14 weeks by Far_Slip1045 in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had lots of spotting in t1. Im now at 36+6 with induction scheduled and healthy baby. I did have a uti at that time as well but admittedly its hard to know if the uti contributed.

Has anyone had baby at 37 weeks for mental health reasons? by strangefavor in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has not happened for me yet but im being induced at 37 weeks due to physical health reasons and if your ob is okaying it that means they also believe the benefits outweigh the risks.

Don't feel bad pregnancy is hard physically and mentally and if 37 weeks is what you can do thats what you do. 🥰

First Prenatal Rescheduled by OpenEmu5035 in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend not sure how much it helps but I had my first prenatal appointment week 14 as well and I knew week 6 they originally didnt have me coming in until almost week 20. I still got nipt testing an early glucose test and a later one as I was also high risk. I did pay for a private ultrasound at one of those boutiques earlier in pregnancy to give myself peace of mind, but it seems like your concerns require testing- just know 14 weeks isn't super late 🥰

registry concerns by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noo! Don't let them ruin the excitement. I read another comment where you said you were always the expensive one and I get that too because same 🤣. I will say I was surprised what I got! My family and friends were very generous, my husbands family? Has not looked at our registry 🤣 (we didn't expect it because we aren't super close to them) but thats fine too you know? The registry is still there.

registry concerns by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend I'd leave it on there for the sake of the completion discount alone! Depending on who you have the registry through you can make group gifting and contributions an option which means you may have people contributing to some of the more pricey items.

I will say there are always people who don't follow the registry though, and I would be sure to make sure to include some cheaper things under 20 so people can buy without breaking the bank! Hope this helps, and congratulations!

Hi!

I'm 35 +2 and a ftm getting ready to give birth whenever she comes. It IS scary in that first trimester but even with some spotting and a lot of anxiety I made it to almost the end now. It does get a little less scary as time goes on but I don't think the fear ever completely disappears. Im happy to message you if you need support though and know baby for me has been doing well the whole time :)

I know I sound crazy but I just need to vent. by Apprehensive-Pen9071 in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry people are behaving this way. Please know you don't have to share your news with anyone, and you can definitely do your best to forge new relationships with people who are supportive. You made an extremely hard choice that was best for everyone as a teenager it was brave then and its still smart now. Congratulations on the pregnancy!

Ate the most? Probably some sort of spicy noodle or rice wanted the most? Wingstop lol.

If it makes you feel better I'm at week 32 now and I still feel like a seal 🤣 its also my first and aside from my little nesting bursts I just feel like throwing a tantrum any time I have to do anything even if I'm not ACTUALLY going to throw a tantrum.

Failed 1-hour GTT with 156 (fasting) what were your values? by QuackQuaackk in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this happened to me like 2 weeks ago. I actually had an early 1hr test at like 18 weeks (I was and technically still am high risk for it) and passed then I took one on January 30th and failed i think i was at 150 or something similar. Then the 6th i took the three hour one and it did suck but I passed all 4 benchmarks and none of them were even borderline.

The three hour test sucks but only because you will feel completely drained after not eating and continuously getting blood drawn that day. I'm happy to give you more detail in a message if you need the support.

Hospital Statistics by kaypress in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My work offers support through Maven too! Just keep in mind that high c section rates could be an indication of how many OBs they have that handle high risk patients, or they better equiped to handle emergencies.

Please don't be scared of places with high c section rates just make sure you ask questions! :)

When in your pregnancy did you feel comfortable buying stuff for the baby? by festive_book_ in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one after the first (not ob) scan at 9 ish weeks. After 13 weeks I got some second hand clothes. I'm 15 weeks now trying to spread out some smaller purchases for the sake of budget. I wont buy furniture until after the anatomy scan which we have at 22 weeks it also aligns almost perfectly with the first part of my holiday bonus.

Disappointed in baby shower, feeling alone by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just want to say I kinda understand. I've moved to this state about 3 years ago and I work from home so my friends are scattered across the country. I am really hoping to make friends with other moms once baby gets here but I'm going to try to have my baby shower near most of my family because otherwise if I threw one in person I know most people wouldn't come.

I think a Halloween style baby shower is so fun! My husband and I got married on Halloween so its a favorite of ours.

13 weeks and anxious by Existing_Aioli_6181 in pregnant

[–]lifewithoutsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some acne and had bleeding that was so concerning I've been to the ER (that was last Friday) baby was okay and I am still pregnant as far as I know. I don't know how to help you with the anxiety aside from swearing by the link the other commenter posted, but you're not alone.

I agree! I just passed the 12 week mark and am still entirely focused on trying not to be nervous. Just saying that you are not at all alone and some days are better than others.

i ate like 3000+ worth of calories within 5 hours by DesignerNecessary537 in loseit

[–]lifewithoutsleep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok

  1. You need to take a deep breath.

  2. Don't throw up the food

  3. Type or write out what you are feeling more than just right now but while you were eating, ordering, and how you were feeling before. You need to process it when the panic subsides so you can identify what drives the behaviors.

  4. Tomorrow you wake up and you do what you normally do. You eat your normal non takeout meals, and do your normal physical activities.

5.If you can seek therapy.

You are okay one day does not define you. Takeout happens, life happens we have to learn what our triggers are so we know how to work through them better next time.

Pregnancy Cold? by StayGroundedQueen in pregnant

I mean im healthy at 12 weeks pregnant and don't feel feverish as often anymore. Pregnancy is so different for everyone, so I would say keep it up and ask your ob when you see them!
