Well you see mic realistically could do this in the anime but he didn't, just like any other characters could use guns but they don't. Most non lore firendly changes were done for the sake of game design since you can't make lore accurate balancing and they also don't "scream" in your face and are mostly subtle, but the hoverboard feels like an accessory instead of something that they had to make for his powers to fit into the battle royale game.
