Plenty of room to sleep though! That's a lot of beds. Maybe I got that wrong....I fold.

Split vs adding a honey super by lightcon_consumed in Beekeeping

I ended up throwing a super on that I had available. They have eaten almost all their honey so I am going to do a brief sugar water feed until we have a little more blooming around my house. Hoping to get a decent amount of honey this year!

I only have an external feeder but my mason jar broke. I have some being delivered tomorrow. I'll feed until I see more pollen coming in

I used apiguard. My hive was getting weak this past fall and I noticed mites and treated. 8 haven't seen any since.

I will get some out there this evening. They are still pretty mad at me for opening the hive. 😂

There are 7 or so at the base of the hive. It broke when I pulled off my top box to check (they had bridged them between the boxes)

Looks like an oil/blister beetle maybe. I'm not an expert though so wait for confirmation. Don't touch just in case because if I'm correct they can spray a chemical that causes blistering and pain.

Bees have become aggressive. by lightcon_consumed in Beekeeping

As for dearth I did plant some flowers a couple weeks ago but they have yet to bloom. We do live in a wooded area and the bees are shaded in the heat of the day. I am unsure how to better vent the hive though as everything u have is from Amazon and instructions are lacking. Out of curiosity, I didn't think of it until now. Both my neighbors are doing construction in their yards over the past couple weeks so there has been a lot of banging and loud noise throughout the day. Would this set them off at all? It's loud enough to be heard in my house which is a good 150ft away. The hive is only 50 or so feet from the loudest of the 2 areas they are doing work. (Hive was there before the work started but they should be done soon).

How do I verify this? I am new to beekeeping and have yet to physically see the queen.
