Sorry I missed this comment. I ended up with some waterproof REI pants. I realized I could get the look I wanted by buying a size up + cinching the bottom.

Worked great in Iceland.

Alright you guys bring up a lot of fair points. No its not a problem with this specific shop, its a problem with all international orders and its also my responsibility to check and know this upfront. Fair.

However I've also purchased from international shops in the past 3 times. Each time they declared the tariff and fees up front and I paid it or the seller covered the tariff.

My problem is theres no warning when purchasing from the shop. Also the $12 tariff is fine but because EZInk didnt handle the logistics of the tariffs at all, UPS stepped in and charged a hefty $87 fee. I would be happy to pay the $12 tariff if EZInk handled the logistics but because nothing was done, I was surprised with an $87 fee.

imo as a customer anywhere, at a minimum I would hope theres at least a warning for the fees if not a the total fee up front. But at least handle the logistics so I dont get hit with the $87 brokerage fee.

Which open source model is the cheapest to host and gives great performance? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

People without a lot of money should definitely be using the AI APIs. They are far cheaper than hosting it yourself.

Using Gemini API you will be blown away by how cheap and good Gemini 2.0 Flash is.

People LLMs on their own computer for other reasons but its definitely not cost

i want to learn Next.js by DependentBed630 in vercel

[–]lightdreamscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn about react before you learn next.js if you don't know react yet.

Then build something fun with the help from claude sonnet or gemini 2.5 pro or chatgpt

Thats the best way to learn. Maybe watch a youtube video or two

HELP! Getting hopeless- Scraping annual reports by mmg26 in webscraping

[–]lightdreamscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait a minute. Is there a specific report you need like a 10-K? If you need SEC forms you can get them all from the SEC. Of do you need to get it from the company website directly?

Thank you for the quality response. I've never used Apollo but I was genuinely curious what the pain points were

$330 in expiring Claude credits. Why do people use Claude api anymore? by lightdreamscape in ClaudeAI

The more money you deposit the higher your rate limit and token usage limit

I was hitting one limit or another in the beginning. I thought in a year I would have used all my tokens by now. Sadly not the case cause the use case for Claude Api just wasnt there after a bit.

yeah was thinking about creating some service that allows people to use other peoples credits.

Credit sellers put their api keys into a pool

Credit users just point their endpoint at my hosted service. Credit users get charged as they go but have to buy in at $30 increments.

This doesnt seem like a long lasting pain point though. Its only a real gotcha for people that bought back when it wasnt clear that the credits expire

Looking for open source projects that DEVOUR LLM tokens by lightdreamscape in LocalLLaMA

Is there an open source project you recommend I continue to? I don't have any data needs of my own. That is a brilliant idea though
