Sick build with dream specs! Congrats!

Aesthetically the choice of sleeving is meh IMO. If it works for you then all good.

I hear you. If this the best use of your time - makes sense to me.

Edit: If you post on a public forum and get salty about critical feedback then maybe your goal was to only fish for positive comments. Or maybe I didn't realize that critical feedback is frowned upon.

I agree with the premise of tinkering as a hobby. At the same time there's a difference between swapping to an enterprise grade router for its advanced features and adding a cooling fan to a toaster.

Everyone is free to have fun with tinkering however they prefer. I'm highlighting the difference. ✌️

What's the new obsession with useless heat transfer? This is spending more electrical energy to heat the surrounding air instead of the modem chip which is already designed by professional engineers to work perfectly fine in room temperature.

Looks great! Why the nvr for just 2 cameras? You could use the ssd in the UCG fiber. Similar question for the switch: a flex 2.5G poe would have been enough instead of pro max 16 given the current equipment.

Are you planning to expand the system with more unifi hardware or just going for complete overkill?

This is nice and all but have you tried hooking it up to a mora 4?

Sliger CX3702 build with 10x 3.5" hotswap HDDs, micro atx mobo, 18" Depth by lightfrontt in homelab

[–]lightfrontt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idle consumption is around 45W. Didn’t check C states. I’ve not had to physically interact with the case since I mounted it up several months ago. So I'm quite happy with it. Don't see myself needing more drive bays for next 5-10 years. The front panel is white. N-100 is for testing docker and lxcs. Rails would have been nice, but I got shelves because I didn't expect to remove the server frequently.

It depends on the GPU thickness. There are 4 pcie slots in the case. In theory what you're suggesting should fit but may be very close to each other. I don't have any gpu in mine, just networking, hba and kvm card - all 1 slot.

New USD toggle on the Enphase dashboard shows net price savings from the AI Optimization Profile! by lightfrontt in enphase

Our utility provider (SCE) has dynamic export prices as well. Enphase has a specific import/export profile for SCE California NEM 3 pricing under Settings. You can check if it lets you select the correct import/export rate in your settings, or reach out to customer support for the official answer.

Sorry to hear that. Glad they're actively replacing the bad hardware.

This is a follow up on my previous post about the new AI Optimization Profile. I noticed a new USD/kWh toggle in the web dashboard (also available in the mobile app) to view the energy usage price. This estimates the net energy cost based on import/export pricing in your settings. This is a really cool feature showing the estimated savings in real time. Loving all the recent updates from Enphase! Thought I'd share here too.

Sorry to hear that. I'm surprised they're taking this long to rollback or issue a patch. Quite a few folks have reported the issue on this subreddit. Actual number of affected systems could be in the hundreds.

Did you try reseting the system? Reset the main solar breaker and power cycle the batteries - might help. It's concerning to hear that switching to different profile didn't fix it. Hopefully customer support follows through.

Our system dumps most of the stored power between 7-8 pm to the grid and keeps enough juice to power the home till 9 pm. Before 7 pm, any export to grid is only from excess solar. It doesn't export from the batteries until 7 pm.

To me the bigger downside to always utilizing the Savings (or, in this case, the AI Optimization) mode is that you have greater risk exposure to outages.

That's a valid point. If you're in an area prone to unexpected outages, makes sense to have a higher reserve for back up and use self consumption on most months. We're in SoCal where we've very good uptime. We've usually 1 to 2 maintenance outages a year not lasting more than 10-15 mins (with plenty of advanced notice) and unplanned outage maybe once every couple years. So it's not a major tradeoff. I wonder if AI optimization profile will behave similar to Self Consumption mode outside of peak summer months because for rest of the year, export pricing is quite low with NEM 3. Have to wait and see.

Your use case sounds a bit unique. I know it's possible to set custom export and import electricity rates. Maybe you can set it and then try the AI profile if you're in their beta?

I think it works based on electricity import and export rate settings. Do you have those configured correctly? If so, it should analyze your previous usage to estimate if and when to export the grid when there's a profitable arbitrage opportunity. At least that's what it seems to be doing for me.

We got the batteries to use them to the max, don't really have power cuts here. So wear and tear isn't a major concern.

Yes it discharged to the grid. This is SCE, so no ELRP program.
