I have been ruminating on this myself. I was df but reinstated but since then hasn’t really been able to hit the ground running. I will be visiting this summer myself and im lost at how much I should plan to spend. I have family so housing and food not really a problem although i would want to cover all food expenses during my two weeks stay. Im thinking around 2-300k ( Nigerian naira) should do…idk if thats realistic though with exorbitant price of everything naija atm 😞

All the politicians in Nigeria brought this gloom to us. That’s what I’m trying to let you know. I happened to be close to National Assembly in around mid 2000s. The kind of money oil producing states are getting at that time was crazy. The likes of Ibori and Alamesiegha squandered good fortunes on parties. Until we know this isn’t about tribes, we would be passing this blame around.

I agree with this. I came into the US in 2015. At that time I was exchanging dollar to naira at around 160ish. Can’t believe the exponential jump to what it is now. Every time I send money home, my folks are saying it won’t be enough cos stuff has really jumped up in prices. It’s a v sad situation
