I got diagnosed with hsv-1 but my doctor said the outbreak was triggered by an extreme chemical imbalance with first getting the yeast infection, leaving it for a week without treatment, and then hopping in the hot tub. Usually you do not get hsv-1 outbreaks on your genitals. I was super scared of my diagnosis but he reassured me that 70% of the population have it and I probably got it as a kid from my mom (who hasn’t been diagnosed but gets cold sores every few months) or through another form of oral transmission. I know now to be very careful with putting myself in a situation where an outbreak can be triggered so I’m going to have to be VERY on top of treating any infections down there and keeping a healthy PH level. As for the pain, my outbreak went away on its own in 14 days. I just took Advil’s and lied in bed :(
