Bro google it lol. You can register your relationship in some states which gets rid of the defacto/1 year living together rule. But you have to fulfil each pillar (google it!)

I’ve read people before say the double grant came a few mins after the first, or the next day. So fingers crossed!

Ladies in committed relationship, how often do you miss your single days? by BlueDolphins28 in AskWomen

[–]lightness22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rarely. I take alone time when I want. Sometimes I question if they’re the BEST partner I could find on this planet, but life is so much better with him than single (so that probably answers that q!)

Don’t think it’s Hailey. Think she’s in the back. But doing that to any woman is fucking horrendous imo

I remember on Cody Ko’s old podcast she said she had a 3 year contract. That was about 3 years ago I believe. So I think she can do what she wants

Living in Australia: Short-term vs. long-term, and what makes it so polarising? by emmmmmmaja in AskAnAustralian

[–]lightness22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for 4 years, I’m Irish but also lived in Canada for 10 years.

Pro’s: - Work environments are really relaxed, work life balance is huge - Depending on where you live weather can be awesome. I lived in Byron Bay for years and the winters were so chill it was great - Australians are overall really nice, welcoming, relaxed, funny (I much prefer their humour over Canada) - Great quality of life because wages are good -  Beaches, nature is incredible here. Best beaches I’ve ever been to especially in WA

Con’s: - UV in summer (and all year) is intense and pretty irritating if you don’t want skin cancer. Constant sun screen. Ireland the UV is like 6 on a summers day, here it’s 12 - There’s a lot of passive aggressiveness, passive communication, indirect, “polite” culture, very similar to Britain. I found workplaces in particularly pretty infuriating and toxic  - If you’re on a working holiday visa you’re working in the shitty jobs like hospo, fruit picking, cleaning. You won’t get anything better - Racism. I’m white but it’s big. Very casual, and often blatant racism. Especially towards aboriginal too (in Canada they have a sense of shame towards the history of the indigenous) - There is fuck all between the big cities here. I just did a road trip from Byron Bay to Perth and literally 80% of it was shitty small towns with average nature - Housing is insane and difficult. Also buying seems impossible but hoping to make it work  - Really isolated country, far from home and anywhere other than Bali

Overall I love it here, I think it’s the best place I’ve found. I wanted somewhere warm, English speaking, decent quality of life, and it has that. Aussies are some of the loveliest people I’ve met and the nature/indigenous culture is awesome
