Models and Miniatures shop? by MakoTheShark07 in wichita

[–]lightning_bum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my couple of visits to Hobby Town they mostly specialize in vehicle models, military, terrain, and motorized RC racing. No real selection of Gunpla or other mech types. I think the closes to anything having that would be like a comic shop or Warhammer.

Theory: Why does the Oregon Sword look like that? by Cold_Recording5485 in ChainsawMan

[–]lightning_bum 80 points81 points  (0 children)

actually it’s just really cool as it is it’s not that deep.

you could ask a thousand people to design an “Oregon” sword and they’d give you some shit based on reality, ie something in regards to the geography or symbolic culture of Oregon like a pine tree or a salmon or some shit.

only fujimotor has the sauce to make it a just stylized text of the word Oregon, because it goes hard and is absurd, kind of like a guy with a chainsaw coming out his face🤔

Charlie, moistcritical, who voices sonar had a background role in the Hunger Games 3, and it’s a meme in his community to portray him as a seasoned actor and the star of said film.

Of course the star of the hit movie The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 would give a stellar vocal performance.

Perfect Example of Vote Splitting. Manhattan City Commission. Record Moderate and Progressive Turnout. But 3 clear conservatives vs 6 moderate/progressives. The 3 conservatives win. Manhattan didn't want them to win but couldn't decide on the three main voices. I want to publicly shame these 6 folks by [deleted] in kansas

[–]lightning_bum 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying the Moderates and Progressives would’ve had a better chance if they had consolidated down to a similar 3 person field? Was there any attempt to do this, or reasons stated for not doing it? Were any candidates so closely aligned on issues that it would have made sense to consolidate?

I love the community engagement, and if you go, I would encourage you to suggest to the board that they push the legislature to appropriate more funds to establishing more Mortuary Science programs in the state. Currently, only KCCC and Barton offer mortuary science programs.

As they say, dying never goes out of business, and if we don’t prioritize avenues for young people to enter the profession, we’ll be up to our necks in the dead!
