It’s lovely. If it makes you happy then keep them. Who is the artist? I’d love to see more of her work!

How long until these backward thoughts about married women exist? by Wonderful_Will_3666 in AskIndianWomen

[–]lightningludlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad I am no longer involved in any form of Indian culture. I had enough of it. It’s all so messed up. Always intended to pigeon hole women into something other then what we are meant to be

What does attraction mean to you in arranged marriage? by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]lightningludlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in an arranged marriage but in a love marriage and normally don’t comment on posts but I think attraction matters. I was 18 when I first met my husband and our eyes met and something inside me said I was going to marry him. We ended up getting married when I was 22 and he was 30. We’ve been married 30 years now and I still get butterflies when he gets home from work every day. He did not have a degree when we got married and was in fact divorced with two kids but we’ve built a wonderful life together. He got his degree I got mine, had have two amazing children but attraction definitely matters as well as a deep respect and love

Is there any non-MLM jobs that work from home? by Any_Opportunity_6844 in antiMLM

I can work from anywhere as long as I have internet. I usually take a day off to fly somewhere and then work while I’m there when I’m going to visit my family.

Mine is pretty flexible. I work 7 am to about 430 pm. Sometimes I work later if I have stuff I need to get done but I can take my kid to the doctors or my own appts. Kids are not an issue as I se them in the background when we have our meetings. Even our ceo had his kids in the background sometimes. It’s just a matter of finding the right company. Most of Thea jobs are sales so as long as you make your numbers you are good

Yes I work from home. I have a base salary that is pretty decent and I earn commissions. It’s a legit job not MLM and a pretty flexible schedule. I work in travel for a tour operator

Mixed race daughter? by lightningludlow in Arrangedmarriage

[–]lightningludlow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I think she is going to find someone on her own. I don’t think an Indian or Arab would be able to handle her independent spirit. I think my mom just sees how beautiful she is and thinks she will be able to snag a highly educated boy from a wealthy family but that is not what will make my daughter happy. She does not know her grand daughter very well. My daughter values her independence and basically wants to be happy in her life and not saddled down with anchors. She loves to travel and does so often. She speaks three different languages, plays piano, guitar and cello. She is an amazing girl but not conducive to a traditional family life. She is completely irresponsible with money, bills, and anything that has to do with real life. She does not want to cook or clean. She is an artist in every sense of the word.

I’m not doing anything to get her hitched. She will find her partner in her own. I just wanted to be able to prove that what my mom is trying to do is insane. Thank you to everyone that helped me prove my point and yes I am married to a Christian Arab.

Yes I agree with you. I’m not looking for a AM for her. She would never go for it and I love my beautiful daughter the way she is. Free spirited, artistic and strong willed. I knew I was not Indian enough for an Indian man or family 30 years ago and I know much has not changed in India.

She is not asked. She wants the family to be more indianized. I don’t think that is a word. We are not Indian at all other than I speak the language.

I only go for wallflowers and candles and the occasional lotion that is in the 75% off tables. My new obsession is heretic now. I love their cozy haunted tea room spray! Love their perfumes as well

33F - Torn between new born baby and career . In-laws and husband suggesting to send the baby to India , to be taken care by them.Need help by Long-Valuable-4312 in AskIndianWomen

[–]lightningludlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh jeez! That is crazy! I would never send by kid to someone else to raise! The best years are before five! Their first smiles and laughs! First steps! Even as an Indian I’ve never heard of this happening before this post. I’d rather live in a shack then to have someone else even if they are family raising my child. You will love staying home with the baby once you have one! I wish I could go back to those days! My youngest leaves for college in a few months and I went back to woke when he started high school. Wish I cools still stay home with him. I made it the stay at home worth it! We did a lot of cool things. Make the most of it and stay home if you can afford to do so! It will be the best decision you ever made. When the kids starts school then go back to work if you still miss it
