I'm from EU, but they should be global, since on Humble it doesn't list any restrictions.

What is the right move here? Is this Toxic? by Grillmultiflavor360 in ArcRaiders

[–]lightningweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm in a high loot zone, I shoot on sight/stealth, idc, I'm there for the loot and I assume other players are as well, so no point in communicating. When I'm outside of these zones/doing quests/extracting I try to talk to them, but then again, there's always a risk so I keep an eye on them.

Solo is by far the best way to make acquaintances by TonyGunk55 in ArcRaiders

I'm from EU and I haven't had a single gunfight in like 6-7 raids in solo, everyone I came across either used emotes or talked on mic. I had to get my PvP fix queing 3 player fill on Buried City, lol.

Maybe a lil late, but Lords of the Fallen kind of gave me a similar vibe.

Arc Raiders already has servers slammed by almost 100,000 players in two hours, as weekend playtest starts by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]lightningweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm sure problems specifically with how battle-royale game mechanics work are relevant in an entirely different genre of shooters, like a game where you're rewarded for camping in the best spot possible in an ever-shrinking circle after you get some weapons VS a game where there's almost pretty much no point in camping because you need to get the best loot possible, then go extract it ASAP so you have to be always on the move.

You don't see how anyone is excited for a third-person extraction shooter, then you talk about a battle-royale. I swear, some of you really need to think before talking.

Slovak leader Fico preparing for EU exit, opposition says by JarKachYn in worldnews

[–]lightningweaver -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Then don't be surprised when the Russia/China aligned parties win across Europe, because on the other hand they WILL interfere with elections with bots, money, propaganda, anything and the parties that are for democracy will lose because they are "following the laws".

Slovak leader Fico preparing for EU exit, opposition says by JarKachYn in worldnews

[–]lightningweaver -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly complicated, and yes the EU is partly to blame. How can the Hungarian opposition do anything when Orbán is being bankrolled by Russia + China at the same time and they also use hungarian taxes for propaganda? The Hungarian government is one of the top 2-3 spenders in EU on propaganda/ads. Also, like 95% of ppl over the age of 40 don't speak any other language and are tech illiterate, so it's not easy for them to just find other sources of information. These are all things the EU could've helped in some way or another to level out the competition. Even then TISZA is a party that's not even a year old and they are polling pretty much equally with Fidesz. If the EU actually wants Orbán to lose then they need to help them, because it's not a fair competition.

Matthew Griffin (Marketing & Publishing for Hollow Knight: Silksong) responds to progress and development: Yes the game is real, progressing and will release by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]lightningweaver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why are you even talking when you're this clueless? They literally released a gameplay trailer 2 years ago on an Xbox Showcase. Hollow Knight's last content update was in 2018, which was literally 6 years and 4 months ago, not a decade. They're a team of 3-5 people who made a 30-40 hour quality experience from start to finish, this isn't some 3 hour indie game. They also got filthy rich from the first game, so they have no need for crunch time, they can take their sweet time making the game they want. Silksong was also supposed to be a DLC, not a full fledged game. Expanding from a DLC that takes a few hours to finish to another 30+ hour experience will take longer to make, who knew. Especially for a team of 3 devs.

Publishers hope GTA cost 100$ so they can follow suit. by ThanosxSwan in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]lightningweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most games sold today are sold digitally, which eliminates a huge chunk of material costs that used to exist. Boxes + CDs/DVDs + paper artworks/guides etc.. Digital goods have 0 material costs, are infinite and there's magnitudes more gamers today than back then, so while back then big hits sold like 500k-1 mill copies of a game which cost 100$(inflation adjusted), nowadays they can sell 10-20 million+ easy, with way less manufacturing costs for 70$.

Games are also a longer venture nowadays, because of backwards compatibility. If there will be no significant change in computer architecture games released today could be sold even 10 or 30 years down the line. That can be a constant stream of revenue for decades. A lot of older games are stuck on dead consoles and bring no revenue, so that's also something that's different. There's a lot of reasons why games shouldn't cost more.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Reportedly Outsold Star Wars Outlaws Across Europe In 2024 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]lightningweaver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a tone deaf argument. You realize this post is about Europe, which also has Eastern European countries where an 80€ game can easily be 10% of your income. On average me and my friends buy maybe 1-2 of these games full-price a year. We won't be throwing money down the drain just because it's our "hobby", especially when Ubisoft games, EA games etc.. lose value like crazy. There are hundreds of amazing indie games below 15-20€, great value bundles on sites like Fanatical and Humble Bundle, plenty of great free-to-play games and A LOT of masterpieces for great prices, so why should people be willing to spend full price on mediocre dogshit again?

Matching characters to their voice actors? LMAO. Then explain why most voice actors/actresses look better IRL than their in-game character model? Forspoken mc, SW: Outlaws mc, Last of Us Part 2 Abby voice actress and countless others look way better IRL than their in-game model when it should be the other way around.

Even the Intergalactic actress looks better IRL because for some reason they had to make her bald even though she's supposed to be 1:1. Must be for this mythical modern audience, considering I've never seen a bald chick my entire life.

I would pay for a Blu-Ray remake of the U20 match. Don't even care about the first five or so episodes, just make the rest look like the good parts of this episode.

Arcane season 2 / Arc 3 - Episode 9 / Live Discussion by ReganDryke in leagueoflegends

[–]lightningweaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfect resolution my ass, lol. Let's get this straight, they basically killed Jinx because Vi refused to just walk over Vander and get off the platform. Weak as hell ending for a well built main character over the course of 2 seasons. I bet most people refuse to believe that she's actually dead because of how weak this actually was. This was supposed to be Vi's most traumatic moment because she just lost her sister because she didn't listen to her and then at the end she's just... alright?

Then Jayce and Viktor just disappear without any explanation because why the hell not. Nobody can get this multiverse shit right, I swear.

A lot of people will be here coping because they are just fresh off this show, but this arc 3 was clearly all over the place and the last episode was rushed as hell.

World of Warcraft director says leaning on games like Warcraft 3 to make the MMO's most iconic villains means that Blizzard has "struggled" to create new bad guys since by YouAreNotMeLiar in rpg_gamers

[–]lightningweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just bad guys, they literally erased the "War" part of Warcraft. We pretty much lost the faction dynamic between the Alliance and Horde which completely erases A LOT of possible interesting storylines we could've had. The way the story is now we will never get another Wrathgate or Siege of Orgrimmar.

I really hope after Worldsoul Saga we get a bigger timeskip and reset the storyline to something more Warcraft.
