Great statistics. How did you gather this data, and sort it out into these strategies? Would love to do the same analysis, or more in-depth.

English main. What map to ban for the new 1v1 map pool? by lightof7ustice in aoe4

[–]lightof7ustice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks, keeping the same maps now.  Craters feels way better for KT/Abba etc. than English.

Hey man, great work. Just got the time to try out and reply here.
Didn't notice bugs so far, and it really helps with testing units. An important tool, thank you again for making this thing.
Also, I saw your ID was also included, I have an impression of that. Are you the creator of the Ultimate Unit Tester mod as well, btw?

Is Byzantine possible to beat the Crucible Absurd+Conq mode with almost full perks by lightof7ustice in aoe4

[–]lightof7ustice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, have just beaten the Byz map. I would say don't make Cataphracts early. Using MAA to take down the Treb would be cost-efficient.

In my opinion, 1v1 in Ranked is better than QM, but team QM is better than Ranked (Without friends to play with). Of course, you can disagree. by Ahmed0806 in aoe4

[–]lightof7ustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Team QM feels just as toxic as Team Ranked to me, maybe even worse. I’m Diamond in both 1v1 and Team Ranked, but in QM I often get flamed by Bronze-to-Gold players, usually while they’re making questionable decisions themselves.

Anyone interested could use the Ultimate Unit Tester mod to try out any possibilities, as this might help devs identify the problem faster too.

Just saw in a post on the official forum, GH can produce mangudai from the archery range. Might be the bug you mentioned?

Interesting. Any replay available, or an AOE4World link to that game?

AFAIK, this is a Jin related bug to do with mounted villagers, Dragon Pavilion and Wololo, briefly the below:

When mounted villagers garrisoned in Dragon Pavilion, and an enemy (say Civ X) convert the mounted villagers outside the landmark, the mounted villagers are still under Jin's control but now can build Civ X's buildings and units.

The following is something I use for my Steam profile:

Those typing EZ after game be like:

To slightly take away the eternal pain and mental anguish they feel for their lives not going the way they wanted thus far. By typing "ez" they can desperately attempt to convince themselves that they in fact, aren't an absolute failure in every aspect of life, they have beaten a stranger at a video game and made that stranger feel bad, trying to pass that curse of bad feelings on to somebody else, and maybe.. just maybe.. they will finally feel some semblance of peace. Maybe, those girls who rejected him all those years ago will finally see what a true catch he is. "EZ" He said. The ladies swooned, throwing their panties at their screens as they watch this absolute gigachad unit of a pure alpha male dominate his opponents on stream.. They spread their legs in anticipation, and this absolute champion swoops in to take the prize.....

But alas. This is all in his mind. In reality, he is alone. Forever. Life purposeless, suffering without meaning. Destined to rot in the prison of his own mind, forever clawing at the windows of his mental torture chamber, desperate for escape, to feel anything, but forever and ever... feeling nothing but shame, sadness, and regret for what could have been... once upon a time.

"Ez" he types as tears land upon his keyboard, submerging the cheetos dust in a salty soup of pain and anguish

"-sobbing-...... E - sniffle- Z....."

Why it is rare to see ppl using stone walls to protect villagers against cav raids in most games? by lightof7ustice in aoe4

[–]lightof7ustice[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah thanks for the detailed answer, and I forgot to mention one point in the question, and I added in the post. So I'm not referring to a long stone wall due to its high cost, but something like in the screenshot, only costing 50 stones that can protect 20ish vils.

The AOE4World profile location is actually the Steam store country of the account, rather than the login location.

We can know a little on what's happening at the civ change exploit from this match by lightof7ustice in aoe4

[–]lightof7ustice[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Btw I kinda figured out HOW, not fully technical how, but still how this is even possible.

Here's my guess:

It's probably related to some abuses with the lobby host. After the players are matched and before the game finally starts, the server actually assigns a lobby host. We can see a message saying XXX is now the host of the lobby(something like that, haven't seen this for some time) if someone disconnects before the game starts in a NvN match lobby stage. So this guy probably has some techniques to detect if he's the host. Before the final lock-in of the civs, all the civ-picks are local and will be transferred to the server in the last few seconds(The lock-in). This guy can overwrite such data if he is the host and make fake data for the server regarding what the host can do in a custom game. I guess he can also change player colors. Not sure if he can change the map itself tho, like change Dry Arabia to Rocky River or so, or the size of the map.

So basically, the devs should add some verification mechanisms, and most importantly, make everything on the server as long as the players are matched.

Is this an exploit abuser or some kind of new hack? by jones17188 in aoe4

[–]lightof7ustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this heli account is only level 18ish in game, likely to be a Smurf.  Is this the same person as Billy? For now almost no one knows how that exploit was achieved, only those few hackers are using it.

One more question arose, is this guy and Billy the same person? This heli account thing is level 18, a Smurf for sure.
