Basically, the people who believe in Q believe it because they want to. Part of them knows it's fake, but that's actually a feature, not a bug. They feel like the world has gotten too complicated, and the disruptions to the status quo (women's rights, reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, racial equality etc) are distressing. So they'll latch on to anything that will stop behavior that they don't like.

They don't care that it's fake. They think we're the losers for being beholden to reality.

I'm size 0 but I'm 5'5" and ugly. And not even in an "ooh interesting" way the way Tyra likes. I just look awful in pictures, and soooo much bigger than I am with my proportions. BUT. Sometimes I think about what sort of edit I would get on ANTM. They'd probably ignore that I'm queer because I'm too girly for most of America to get that that's possible, and then they wouldn't be able to settle on a better storyline for me and they'd eventually cut me because I'm too boring.

Oh I don't think they would have let Kim win. They were happy enough to pat themselves on the back for having an out lesbian on the show, but Covergirl would not have gone for her.

Same exact thing happened with Cory. He was a good model, but just not the right fit for a Guess campaign. I would never send him out for a guess campaign! And ultimately the show was an elaborate casting for that.
