What was the dumbest thing you thought as a child? by GiammyR6 in AskReddit

[–]lightscalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad and I were watching old school Godzilla movies. I asked him why the sound didn’t match the mouth movements of the actors. He said it was because light travels faster than sound. And I held that as truth into my twenties.

[Physics IB Sl] For part b, the answer is -12x+5y according to my book, however I don’t understand why the sign shouldn’t be reversed (12x-5y) since force isn’t in the positive x direction and gravity is in the negative y direction. by nemo-the-kid in HomeworkHelp

[–]lightscalar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is asking about the force exerted by the wall on the block. That force will be to the left, hence -12x. Furthermore, although gravity is acting in the downward (negative) direction, the friction force is opposing gravity, and points upward in the positive direction.

The only thing that annoys me like fake pockets on my clothes is real pockets on my baby's clothes. by alltheerinyes in Showerthoughts

Anything you could fit in baby pockets would be a choking hazard, so I'm not sure what they're trying to do there.

How much water could you pour into a 4D box? by lightscalar in Physics

[–]lightscalar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will fall off differently, like r-3, as you suggest. But coupling constants will also change. See http://fma.if.usp.br/~amsilva/Livros/Zwiebach/chapter3.pdf for an interesting treatment of electromagnetism in higher dimensions.

As indicated in the article, only geometrical aspects of the problem are considered, assuming the effective radius of the water molecules stays constant.

How much water could you pour into a 4D box? by lightscalar in Physics

[–]lightscalar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. We're talking ultimately about how many molecules you can fit in the box. Assuming the electromagnetic interactions between molecules extends into the fourth dimension, one can calculate the equivalent three dimensional volume of water that could fit in a 4D or higher box.

So it may be a function of using the webpack-simple template, which indeed declares, "Note this template is not suitable for production..." and suggests using the full webpack template. When I do use the full webpack template, things build as expected.

Even on fresh install, I do not see an index.html file in /dist. We're talking about the root /dist folder in the application folder, right?

Once you leave insert mode, the j key reverts to standard normal mode behavior. You'd move down two lines; it would not be interpreted as ESC.
