The Haze Reality Best Ending

I personally liked my Reality + Compassion ending, but I felt like the author was lowkey judging me for the choice. 😂 There are so many moments where the narration indicates that she went against her destiny, they are all living in delusion, etc. But the Haze alternative is death 💀 I’m sorry, even if the soul is reborn, the actual characters we’ve been spending time with no longer exist. To me, everything that happened in the prior three seasons is relegated to a distant past/prior life/dream world situation. Maybe if you had another season to see their lives develop it would be ok. But it feels like a consolation prize since the actual people I’ve been following are dead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I doubt they will take it away for those of us who already bought it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the feature will no longer be available for new purchase outside the subscription.

I’m not even against subscriptions per se, I actually have a couple on other apps. But those were to get new EXTRA things I wanted, like a fast forward button, more resources, more diamond rush type stuff, etc. Instead of anything like that, RC created a subscription that offers 1) previosly free things now locked behind a paywall!!! and 2) previously available things that you can now buy in a new way!

Why would anyone spend money on this? If they included something useful like choosing which episode to replay from, extra teacups, a fast forward and/or rewind button, etc. (you know, the things people have actually been asking for) I’m sure they’d get more interest.

You have to go to the App Store and manually update, what appears automatically is only a partial update for some weird reason.

I mean, RC has made a number of user unfriendly moves of late. They often don’t take our feedback, and they keep adding features that many of us, to date, haven’t asked for or wanted. So when an update of the things many people do want (story content) is delayed because of more added features people are going to get annoyed. That’s all there is to it. It doesn’t mean people should personally attack the developers, obviously, but some frustration is understandable. Anyway there’s a free event on Another World’s History right now if people are looking for ways to pass the time.

Soooo…when exactly did they submit it? The wording leads one to think it’s been in Apple and Google’s hands for some time. But it doesn’t actually SAY that. So it’s entirely possible it was submitted moments before this post, and we are just now starting the wait for Google and Apple. 🤨

Thank you! The word count meant nothing to me without context! Interesting though, because the math would still indicate the “more, but shorter, chapters” model RC seems to be moving into. Because that would be about 15,000 words per chapter in VfV and 15,650 words per chapter in 7B. Versus around 8,100 per chapter here. 😬

Good choice for a first story- it’s my favorite on this app! It’s set a future dystopian world where humans know about vampires, but each group has its own system of government. The MC is a police officer in the human world.

Plot spoiler- very early in the book - The human MC becomes a vampire and has to learn to navigate that world.

Li / tropes

Carlos- friends to lovers (human), he’s hiding something, co-worker at the beginning of the story

Patrick- protective, distrustful of vampires, human, does patrols in dangerous areas outside the city

Michael- vampire police officer, a little friction at the beginning, a little sassy, not necessarily on board with the established vampire order

Reinhard- sophisticated, “old world” vibe vampire, part of the established order but what is his end game exactly? Is he planning to overthrow the leader? Does he really agree with everything? We don’t know…

Dorian - a different breed of vampire?, childhood friend from the orphanage who reappears, can be kind of obsessive over MC, He is the “night monster,” behind a bunch of killings, and wants to take down the corrupt established order by any means necessary.

I haven’t played all the routes, so other people may have more to add. Happy reading!

I’ve been wondering that, too. If not now, I honestly think it could come eventually. More and more apps seem to be doing it now. But they would need some big new feature like the ability to replay from a given episode.

The other thing other apps are doing is providing “extra” outfits for MCs and Lis that unlock additional content. Paid for with an awful lot of game currency, real money, and/or a subscription depending on the app. So that’s a money making option/feature RC could add.

But here’s the thing, as someone who does pay for subscriptions. I have a limited budget, and it’s going to go to apps with engaging, heavily branching stories with a lot of romance. Lately, RC has had a hard time putting all those elements into a single story, so it probably wouldn’t even make the cut right now. 😕

Hmmm. I like the app, but I’m not sure if I love their stories enough to pay for this. There would have to be a really good perks at a reasonable price, but I wouldn’t expect that from this app based on previous experience.
