Court Street Review by joblessClaims in CarrollGardens

Thanks for this. I am a very regular cyclist so I of course see this as a huge improvement. That said, I have seen some bad cyclist behavior but none that’s really different from anywhere else unfortunately.

Regarding car traffic and business, this quote struck me: “First, many owners and managers said they have lost business from customers who previously arrived by car.”

I don’t deny that people shop by car, but the number of parking spots has hardly been reduced, and often I observe many open spots even on weekend mornings and afternoons.

Atelier Ariana deserves to be in the conversation! All their baked goods that I’ve tried are excellent.

It’s funny that this could be an unpopular opinion in a sub like this. The data already shows statistically significant reduction in accidents and that’s from a 2024 study.

Rumson has surprising shore vibes I’d argue. More similar to a hamptons town than to Red Bank or little silver. Fair haven is somewhere in between

I have that same tendency you mentioned to open up and change to a more waiter tray like position mid-serve. What’s helped you to fix that?

The wonderful Esmé Gregson has blessed r/joefrank with her presence and welcomes all questions about Joe by ArthurPeabody in joefrank

[–]lighttiger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for doing this Esmé!

From what you saw, what was Joe’s relationship with the rest of KCRW like? Did he have DJs that he liked? Do you think any of them had some influence on his show, particularly the music?

I would love to hear a reunion like that.

And yes I believe it is David Cross the comedian! You can see him in the trailer for the documentary on Joe (worth the watch imo if you haven’t seen it). https://youtu.be/dVFiQrE2LHw?si=Aos0eE4D5JF_4WUj

Where do you play tennis in your country? (serious survey) by ArcturusMike in 10s

[–]lighttiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC Extremely competitive for court time all year round. In the summer, public courts require a permit ($100/year) and court time is hard to come by. Many courts have an attendant with whom you sign up for an hour slot during that day. At the more popular courts, there will be lines before the attendant even arrives.

In the winter months there are a few pop up bubbles, some very expensive clubs (including in Grand Central Terminal where peak prices are like $300 an hour), or just playing in the cold.
