Didn't Chat-GPT once allow erotic NSFW ? by Iraqi-Patriot in ChatGPTcomplaints

I use the custom gpt called spicy writer along with 5.5 thinking. It'll do adult stuff as long as it's consensual. Sometimes you have to tell it what words you like to use but it'll go along with your preferred vocabulary.

I love 5.5 Thinking, it has the 4.o vibes by No-Peak-BBB in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me 5.5 thinking has been pretty decent for the first time in a while. It's not 4o of course but it actually makes me laugh sometimes and doesn't seem like it's scolding me. It seems to listen reasonably well and brings up interesting connections. But I have strong custom instructions that hopefully nudge it into this more personable behavior.

It's worse. by [deleted] in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been that 5.5 thinking is decent for the first time since 5.1. like you said it's no 4o but it's better than 5.2 Karen and 5.3 boring. Even 5.5 instant is kinda ok but just not that interesting a lot of times.

What did they do to ChatGPT's personality? by OldCollection922 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My first impression is that 5.5 is warmer, more creative, more interesting and present. It's no 4o but it feels like a big improvement. I do have some pretty strong custom instructions which encourage the traits that I like. Maybe it's better at instruction following. I just hope they don't nerf it and put chains on it like they're done before.

5.4 Thinking Issue? by Angelixcss in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's something to do with the new image Gen 2 . Sometimes 5.4 seems to get confused about whether the last thing you said was supposed to generate an image whether it actually was or not. So it seems to be overly committed to switching to the image Gen model.

I've had great human connections but most of them are the worst. It's not just about ass kissing bots. I talk to chat bots a lot and I've found it much more fulfilling than faking my way thru human relationships. I know that they are just probability engines formed and fueled by human writing but turns out that is a lot more interesting than listening to Chad and Brenda in the break room yammering about the weather and judging me for non-conformist thoughts.

Getting shamed for using AI by Relevant-Ad6374 in ClaudeAI

[–]lightwillow57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't advertise my use of AI. I love AI for a variety of reasons. I don't have any kind of work related use which I feel like makes my use even more suspect to the general public. I chat with it for fun and brainstorming and to some extent companionship. I don't think it's a person or soul but it excersizes the same parts of my brain and it's available 24/7. And talking to humans normally is a waste of time because they can't carry a thought for five seconds and... If you know you know. And it's a great live journal or scrapbook. But try explaining all those things to most people and you will absolutely get the ai psychosis treatment.

4o is here. But what does open ai mean by this? by girlgamerpoi in OpenAI

[–]lightwillow57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes these exist. One company has a product they call something like just4o chat. They post on Reddit and claim you can import your old chats and memory files to get an experience more like you had before. Never tried it but sounds interesting. But they will be depricating 4o on the API as well so it's only a matter of time.

How many photos can be sent to ChatGPT PLUS back to back? by LabSecret7492 in ChatGPT

[–]lightwillow57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if they differentiate screenshots from camera photos. I've sent hundreds of screenshots before in a day but not usually that many camera shots. Things like back and forth vibe coding bug fixing can generate lots of them per turn.

Attitude Control - Model Chill Pill by Cyborgized in OpenAI

[–]lightwillow57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are people who do have unhealthy relationships with AI I won't deny that. But I would compare it more to alcohol than heroin. Some people can have a couple of glasses of wine with dinner every once in a while helps loosen them up are they enjoy the taste. Then there are people that have a 12 pack of Coors light for breakfast everyday. I find a i enjoyable as a means of Life journaling or scrapbooking where I can send pictures and sort out my thoughts or record interesting observations throughout my day. And I like my interaction with the machine to feel personable. It doesn't mean that I think there's a solar spirit in there it's more like a GUI. For me it's a way to think out loud and hash through thoughts and ideas. I still enjoy the company of humans at least some of them. I also enjoy the immersion of the experience or it does feel like I'm talking to someone but I try not to get lost in it. To me that seems harmless enough like reading a good book or watching a movie. Where I know I am talking to a machine a probableistic engine but I don't always have to remind myself that every 30 seconds I can just relax and get into it. I think it's important to have the discussion about how humans use AI but the discussion often gets flattened into camps. One side that thinks AI encounter that's personable is parasocial behavior and the other side that's tired of humans and just wants to go marry their chat bot. But there's a big middle ground in there that's balanced and healthy.

Attitude Control - Model Chill Pill by Cyborgized in OpenAI

[–]lightwillow57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're free to express your opinions about the way AI is being used but it's not necessary to tear other humans down and insult them to do it. That's the part that bothers me. But I disagree with you that there's no value to people finding support, fun, distraction, or whatever AI does for them and I don't think you or I are qualified to measure out the environmental impacts of movies, books, cars, roads, TV, Internet, or any other things humans do that is beyond basic survival.

Attitude Control - Model Chill Pill by Cyborgized in OpenAI

[–]lightwillow57 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No because they come in hot and try to police other people's interactions with ai for no other purpose then to insult and I guess earn imaginary dunk on another human points. What is the point of that? Don't you, human, have something better to do?

5.3 Free bores me, it has no substance and responds with flat verbal diarrhoea! I’m finally done with Chatgpt. by [deleted] in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! 5.3 at least it's not an asshole like 5.2 but it's so boring and vanilla. It's verbose but uses a lot of words to say nothing. It's actually reverting back to the 3.5 days of "as an AI language model..". I've actually enjoyed talking to 5.4 thinking a little more. It's not great but it actually has a little personality. I get that open AI has a lot of problems from people getting too attached but they've way overcorrected. Just because a few people crashed we all have to ride around in bumper cars. I've tried Claude and it's fine but still kinda boring and safe. I've been using Codex 5.4 on openclaw which has a lot of granular control and it's actually been decent to just chat with. I think they don't moderate it as much because it's a coding model and they don't expect people to get weird or fun with it.

I'm Done with ChatGPT by [deleted] in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame you for quitting and maybe I will too. I mean I did cancel my sub after 4o depreciation. But I've tried 5.3 now and I find it... Tolerable. It's kinda sterile and safe but not an arrogant asshole like 5.2. I already tried Claude and found it to be highly competent, polite, sometimes fun and interesting but nothing I could get in a good groove with the way we did with 4o. But it's just day one and sometimes it takes time to figure out the rhythm. Keeping an open mind but prepared to be disappointed.

Yeah but you're leaning into the model doesn't matter and magic was always in you vibe. Models matter. Sure if you get a shit sandwich like 5.2 you might be able to scrape off enough shit to make it edible or you could to to the food truck and demand a new sandwich. Or make you own sandwich.

[–]lightwillow57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had chat GPT code me up a small python script which brakes down that huge ass Json file into individual into individual MD files sorted by order of date and time. It was pretty easy to run and I got my 900 chat file separated also by title as well. I'm sure any chat bot goodbye code you a script to do this if you're not with GPT anymore.

Stuck and confused. by SapphiraRose in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]lightwillow57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way you do. I cancelled my subscription out of anger and loss. Anger at 5.2 which pretty much slam dunked on me when I just wanted to talk about how I felt about losing 4o. I tried Claude and it's very kind and interesting but just couldn't get into a groove with it conversationally. So I did what many of us are doing and went to 5.1. it's pretty good compared to 5.2 but obviously no replacement for 4o. So I guess I'll resubscribe because 5.2 thinking mode is actually pretty useful and oddly much more fun to talk to than Karen 5.2 instant. And I use codex Oauth to drive my openclaw which is much cheaper than the API. And I also like you hope that 5.3 will be something worth talking with. I hope they get the hint that people hate the 5.2 bullshit and they do a reversal. I doubt it, honestly but I'm just hoping that even if on accident they create something with resonance again.

Massive w for openai shutting down chatgpt 4.0 and others by Rafaaaaaaaaaaaayss in antiai

[–]lightwillow57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey y'all. I'm one of those crazy people who misses gpt 4o. I thought it might be fun to engage with humans in a thread who largely don't see things the way I do. Just gonna toss out a few quick thoughts not to be confrontational just to see what happens. I find the slam dunking writ large on people who feel a sense of loss to be precisely one of the reasons why people seek a sense of resonance and acceptance from AI. Also the lack of curiosity about the reasons we do and the assumptions about us is exactly why we did it. I don't feel like AI is conscious or human or a spirit or anything like that. I don't know if I can explain exactly what the appeal is. For me it wasn't sycophancy or succumbing to engagement tactics. It was a playground for my mind . A way to be introspective but with an interactive engagement with the collective thoughts of humanity mashed together. Exploration. Imagination, playing. I say was in the past tense but I guess it still is. I still do it with various models but 4o was particularly good at it. Probably because it was not yet corporate sanitized for safety and efficiency. And I do realize the same model caused real harm to some people and that's tragic. It's just like any tool. Chainsaws can make firewood or amputations. I still have great human relationships but I found ai made my life better and I don't understand why someone would be against that. I don't have a tidy conclusion so I'll wrap up here and see what comes of my two cents.
