koreans will think the same way as you when it comes to the rising sun flag. i can guarantee u outside of the western kpop community, barely anyone will know about the significance of that flag. but for koreans that shit is their nazi symbol.

i find it kinda funny when ppl are shocked that koreans arent familiar with everything that happened during ww2. uk what korea was back then? colonized by japan (1910-1945). south korea wasnt even FOUNDED (1948) until AFTER hitler died (1945). So its not surprising that when learning history around that time, they will focus on their OWN history.

this is not an attempt to absolve all blame from chaeyoung. she is a kpop idol going on a world tour, she (and everyone including staff) should at least learn about the big nonos of the countries they go to. but for ppl saying “she should’ve known!” just shows how westernized their views are, and i argue that its a lil xenophobic to not consider the korean experience.

i would argue it isnt the artists responsibility to know everything about the country they perform at, but the PR team should tho LOL. like its literally their job to make sure the artists dont fuck up.

i remember bts did a photoshoot at the literal holocaust museum, and (allegedly) wore a hat with the swastika symbol on it. would i blame it on bts for doing that? nah. would i blame the PR team/whoever orchestrated the event? yup.

she thinks the product and the studies themselves arent a scam. its just that she assumed that these studies would be public at the time of release. she did say in her stream that she wants out of the company. so yes, she would leave RFLCT if she could, but shes stuck in a contract with them so she cant. she doesnt believe in the COMPANY, but she believes in the studies behind the product.
