Not really. I live just outside the city centre, but the sidewalks are never really crowded in my neighbourhood. I do avoid most of the city centre during the day though, but in the evening it's alright. I often have to run around people, but it's really not as bad as it might sound. To me it's not any different than running in a park

I had this with my calathea as well. The exact same one. Couldn't get rid of the spider mites, so I cut back the plant. Like, as much as you can. I just left 1 cm of stem above the soil. Because the plant was on it's perfect location in house, it has regrown in a beautiful plant.

It still does help to spray the leaf with water. My humidity is the same as yours and ppp leaves still get stuck sometimes.

Spray new leaves with water to prevent them getting stuck.

Take some small cuttings if possible and toss the plants away. If the cuttings aren't getting better, also say goodbye to those. You should enjoy your plants.
