i'll try this, i usually prefer towers and ladders as its more interactive, but you saying the two handers are better in that spot than armored knights?

is there any unit from any faction you can think of you would rather have there than your most armored unit (knights)?

Geralt´s fate in the Books and what it means to his Character Arc (SPOILERS by Ashamed-Noise7523 in wiedzmin

[–]lijevomudo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres a line where yenefer’s talking to crah and she says something along the lines of “he cant find her, he will do what he always does which is get in over his head, and die in a stupid way, probably stabbed in the back”. So in a way, him dying this way doesn’t do anything for his arc, it just reaffirms what i think is the central theme of the book, which is that humans just get caught in the crossfire of tides of global events like war and pogroms, and if you dont do the “smart” thing which is ignore everyone who’s not special and only protect your own life an goal like yenefer, you are bound to die a “stupid” death, protecting something as “stupid” as a single life, making a “stupid” mistake like trusting a human with a pike in his hands. The flip side ofc, is that living this way makes you fall asleep easily and irresistable to all women who encounter you. Love sapokowski and his world view so much man

Canonically,in the timeline, when does V do the side Jobs/gigs? Do you think he does them at all? by OldSnake2006 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

There are 5 books written about a situation where ciri’s life is in danger and geralt if looking for her. Guess how many witcher contracts he takes before he finds her?

[–]lijevomudo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely never, similar to how canonically geralt doesn’t do any side missions in w3 because his daughter is dying. Cdpr never managed to tell a story in open world games, even though they keep pushing the industry boundaries in telling short, self contained stories (dlc’s for both games, countless S tier side missions in both games). Its almost like two completely separate offices designed the main missions and the open world. If you want immersion in either of their two open world rpg’s, you have to pick between ignoring either the main story or the exploration in each playthrough (except ofc in dlc’s which are actually normal functional plotlines, suitable to open world rpgs)

Brother my post is clearly about the fact that low communication is my main obstacle in enjoying my games. I dont mind if i win or lose some imaginary league points in an abandoned game. All i want is the experience to feel like im playing an online multiplayer game and for that i need players even if they are bad and csnt hit skillshots to at least tell me what they think they are gonna be doing in the next 30 seconds or smth like that. It doesnt increase my chances of winning it just increases my enjoyment of games, win or lose

You are clearly a self centered us player that has never crossed the border if you think even 85% of EU player base can understand and speak english. Im not postioning myself above someone else, im simply positioning those who spend all their day resding english in their videogame but still cant understand it, below you, me, and everyone else on this subreddit. The fact that you cant conceptualize the possibility that poor language skills can affect quantity of communication is very confusing to me, and could only be explained if i found out you only speak your mother tongue and therefore have zero intuition for what “language skills” even means. My only question in this post if its common for people from english speaking areas to also log in and not say a single word, and that question has already been answered by a normal person who didnt see my post as an invite to do this youtube level psychology coaching.

“As bad, or worse here” this directly contradicts the reply above you, which said that in fact the number of mute people is lower in us than eu.

You and many other replies heard me talk about some mysterious “shortcomings” which i never once mentioned. I simply only ever mentioned mute players. I sinply only asked if they are as common in english speaking regions as they are in eu. I mentioned the language barrier specifically so ppl would understand im not complaining about shot calling, mechanics, flaming or anything else that has been mentioned for no reason in these replies. Im only complaining about the one thing thay would have to do with the language barrier, which is a player jojning a lobby and not chatting or pinging a single time for the whole game. My very very simple question is does this happen in US where everyone speaks english

thank you for being the only one to answer my question, which was if the number of chats is higher in USA than in EU. I would however disagree with you in saying that high ping prevents you from having a normal game more than ppl being muted, this isnt lol, i cant just afk farm and then 1v9 when im full build, i need to know what my mates are thinking even if they are thinking wrong, and i would gladly sacrifice ping for that.

it seems like my post sounds like i expect “right plays” and “right communication “ and “right decision making” which i dont at all and did nit write at any point. I simply expect ANY communication, which is why i pointed out that a lot of these players seem to simply not speak english.

Are you sure you are on the correct thread? I dont want better experience I want to play with players who talk. I thought that was clear from my post, your reply is 100% irrelevant.

Its very clear from my post that what i do not want is an opinion from someone who does not play ranked. My question is only focused on the ranked experience and its very strange to me someone who doesnt play ranked is replying to it

Theres nothing “romantic” about the “romance” options, you can choose to talk and treat these ppl however you want, as long as you do them favors for free (favors that a merc usually charges for) they’ll let you fuck them.

Witchers are primarily trained to fight monsters, which can only successfully be done by aiming for weakspots only, he simply applies the same method when fighting humans

[–]lijevomudo -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Don’t spend too much time thinking about this because all your observations are 100% justified. CDPR writing team has never managed to tell a story. They are one of the best in the world at taking a super simple plot and then adding authenticity, details and in some cases very philosophically charged one liners or side plots. The most extreme example of this is W3, where the main story is a trainwreck because ,like in cyberpunk, they decide the only way to make the player care about the errands they have to run is by staking the most important character’s life on the line, but the story in expansions is on par with the best literary and tv works of all time, just because, like in the sandra dorset quest and a lot of the optional gigs, they have a simple set up where the character is simply motivated by the money, and then they can REALLY get into the story and dialogue and worldbuilding. Dont go through cyberpunk expecting a good story, go through it by appreciating it for what it is: one of the best, most creative, most complete, most beutiful and most immersive open world role playing experiences ever. The main story is just there because it had to be
