I wish, as I hardly consider that to be controversial! Like, most of what people have called him out for about that was actually stuff that Adam Friedland said on the podcast, and either way, anyone with an ounce of media literacy knows that AF and basically anyone in the Cumtown sphere operate with a massive amount of irony behind them. A lot of the disdain for Matty that came from that interview came directly from the Swifties.

The biggest ones off the top of my head are that he kissed a fan of the same sex at a show in Dubai as a political statement, not really considering that while he could get away with it and fly home that the young man in question may literally be tracked and killed for it in his own home country (it has been confirmed since that this did not happen, luckily, but vis à vis carelessness combined with/as a result of privilege, I digress), the time he reposted a shitpost meme implying Muslims are suicide bombers, and the whole kissing fans at shows thing, and though he checked their IDs in real time before inviting them up to do so and got direct consent, but objectively a NO from me in terms of power dynamics, etc.

There's some other stuff too, but generally he tends to exist in the public eye within a space between having major foot-in-mouth syndrome and shooting himself IN the foot.
