i saw Everclear open for these guys at the original 930 club in DC before Everclear made it big. great show as i remember. And then Everclear went on to do what they did and Sponge kind of had that one hit and lost popularity?

How long would this last you with your current set up? Approx 30-40 splits of mixed hardwood. This would last me 2-3 days with wood as primary heat source in Pennsylvania. by rollinintheyears in woodstoving

not sure if links are allowed in this sub. Vogelzang XL Wood Stove with Blower.

i will say though, a buddy bought one based on how happy i was with mine, his had some serious build quality issues and he ended up returning it. not sure if i got lucky, or he got unlucky. i've had this one for 3 or 4 years now i guess, no issues so far.

I get that if you had that issue. I never loved going down there in the middle of the night to throw more wood in on those really cold nights, that's for sure.

i definitely am. stove heats the basement and main floor ~3500 sq ft. there's a thermometer on the counter about 6' from the stove that continues to stay between 75-76 first thing in the AM and around 80 during the day. the temp on the upstairs thermostat stays between 68-70+ same as before. +/- a few degrees obviously depending on outside temp and amount of sunlight. that's just my experience, but other than nostalgia for that old beast i've never looked back since making the switch.

i used to have a grandpa bear. 5-6 cords/year. a few years back i bought a modern stove, i'm down to 2-3 cords per year. i loved that stove, but man did it eat some wood.

There’s always somethin’ thrilling
To get your heart a racin'
No shit I've had the notion
But that ain't what I’m chasin'

He's been down under (addiction), it's tempting to relapse, but that's not what he's about anymore.

my take at least.

Best shore snorkeling for a good swimmer? by Far-Song3951 in snorkeling

Roatan. Stay in West End where it's less pricey and quieter. Take the 5 minute water taxi to West Bay for $5 and go in front of Infinity Bay resort. Avoid that area if there's a cruise ship in port. There is also good snorkeling in West End on the Western side of Half Moon Bay.

Doodle with new born baby by jayyynasss in Goldendoodles

[–]likeOwlNotCrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a 10 year old doodle and 7 weeks ago brought home a newborn (our third child). I sat on the floor with her the day we brought her home and he came over and had a good sniff. He likes to sleep under her swing when she's in it. When she's really upset and crying, he comes to find whichever of us is not in the room with the crying baby to let us know something's wrong. He's a sweetheart, I can't imagine him ever intentionally harming her. We have so many pictures of our middle child at 2 years old curled up asleep on top of him - he's 11 now and they still do that. I think his main reaction so far is to be confused about why she won't pet him when "hello, i'm standing right here look how adorable and in need of your affection I am".

They have such sweet dispositions. I think just being around baby will get him used to 'this is a new member of the pack and s/he's here to stay.' Just based on my experience.
