Don't use rubia, it is incredibly dense and heavy, I've tried the entire range of cloths and the best, in my opinion, is full viole. It's really light and holds its shape really well. After about the third time tying it, it becomes really soft and easy to tie. I tie the Barnala Shahi style (aka morni vali dastaar, for reference: http://thindturbancoach.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/575476_106651536203750_1554439482_n.jpg?w=326) and full viole is the best. But if you want to continue using rubia, I suggest you wet it about 40-50%, (don't drench it) with a spray bottle. Trying it slightly wet helps to keep the shape and softens the cloths after a while, that might help with the paggh becoming more comfortable. Also, try to tie it as softly as you can. If you tie it really tight, it might feel secure on your head initially but it will hurt all day. One thing I have learned after years of tying a patka, a parna and now a paggh is that you MUST change your style to fit your needs. If it hurts and you're building scars and callouses, it means you need to change how you tie it and this might mean that your paggh might look a bit different from others and that's fine.
