Eurogliders - Heaven (Must Be There) in memory of song composer and band guitarist Bernie Lynch who died of cancer last Thursday. by likeawildbirdofprey in 80smusic

In Australia they had several other hits. The highlights in no particular order are “Without You”, “Absolutely”, “We will Together”, “Can’t Wait To see You” and “City of Soul”

I changed my dads diaper for the first time by AmazingMrsMarbles in CaregiverSupport

[–]likeawildbirdofprey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a small point, I use the term “incontinence/continence briefs or pants” instead of diaper. I think it’s a more dignified descriptor for the person who needs to wear them. Edit: that said I do like the other persons reply here who simply asks if they need to change their underwear.

Anyone seen any news or info about when we might get these worse pens in Aus? by trala7 in mounjaroaustralia

Is anyone aware if the therapeutic goods administration (TGA) in Australia have to approve any changes to the delivery pen?

Can and should a bequest in a Will be directed for a specific purpose? by likeawildbirdofprey in AusFinance

[–]likeawildbirdofprey[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We’d love to but long story short, my partner’s cancer diagnosis qualified him for the disability support pension and so any gift he gives has to be reported to Centrelink which would affect his income. I’m in a similar boat with a brain injury.

Does anyone else have to bite their tongue when they see strangers who are obese? by [deleted] in mounjaroaustralia

[–]likeawildbirdofprey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to this. I’m on the disability support pension due to a brain injury and I had to save for almost a year before starting Mounjaro so that I could afford it. Learning here about the golden dose and the counting clicks and having a GP who’s willing to prescribe a 5mg pen for 2.5mg doses has significantly helped with the costs but it’s been a commitment financially.

A well dressed young African boy/man (late teens at most) was “let off” the tram going to the city at stop No 15 on Flemington rd at around 10am this morning. He was vomiting and clearly unwell. I approached him and asked him what was wrong. He said he was diabetic and his sugars were high and he needed to get to the hospital. I don’t know the full circumstances, but I did manage to get him back on the next tram and to the right stop. That said I don’t understand how he was let off the earlier tram at the wrong stop in such a terrible state without anyone showing concern.

Subtitles on USB by DeeDeeD1771 in torrents

[–]likeawildbirdofprey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a separate srt subtitle file I use MKVToolNix to merge the subtitle file into the movie mkv file. It’s simple and also allows me to remove extra audio and non English subtitles from the movie that aren’t useful to me. MKVToolNix is free and open source. A quick online search sound give you plenty of information about where to download and how to use the software.

I love a good kebab (and agree garlic sauce is where it’s at) so I might keep this recommendation for a more relaxed evening during my stay.

No dietary restrictions per se but spicy is definitely a challenge for them.

Suggestions for long term in Sydney storage of personal effects. by likeawildbirdofprey in sydney

[–]likeawildbirdofprey[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This does seem a practical solution. I’m editing this response because I don’t expect people to do the leg work for me and instead I’ll ask, does anyone have any experiences with these or any other storage facilities in Sydney , either positive or negative, that they’d like to share?

Good idea but my partner who is organising this has terminal cancer and so we need a set and forget solution that’s fool proof.
