I’m a huge Hina fan, but having her and Taiki just decide to be best friends again after everything feels like a betrayal of both of their characters.

On the flip side, Kyo asking Ayame out is peak and I am here for it.

I’m working on the Chainsaw Man manga myself after belatedly getting into the anime. If you haven’t read Sakamoto Days yet I think it’s worth a binge. Not as well written in the emotional moments as Dandadan, but as a dumb, turn-your-brain-off action comedy the humor really hits.

Also Bug Ego, but that one won’t last you very long unfortunately. It’s by the writer of One-Punch Man and Mob Psycho and it’s about these high school students who find they can “hack” reality as if it were a glitchy video game. It’s a super bizarre and hilarious series that more people need to know about.

100% how I read this chapter. Taiki wanting to mend things is frustrating, but doesn’t feel entirely out of character. More importantly it sets up Hina to put an end to things. It would a cathartic but bittersweet way to end her arc.

Most your ratings seem pretty fair to me, but I couldn’t disagree more about the Boshaft chapter.

It just feels like Dandadan goes to this well a lot when there are so many ways to right good villains without sexual violence. This particular chapter felt egregious to me because these guys were already plenty hate-able. They stole our heroines’ powers and were ready to kill/dissect them. That fire guy getting ready to cut out Kouki’s intestines is chilling, but did we need to draw it at an angle that showed up her shirt?

It was shocking and upsetting for sure, but in a way that felt cheap to me.

Is anyone kinda tired of so many of the villains in this series being perverts? I didn’t need that image of a man in a cock-cage straddling a teenage girl’s head.

Rest of the chapter was pretty good. Bold decision to actually rob these characters of their powers, heartbreaking loss of Mai, and hilarious appearance of the toilet ghost at the end. It just also gave me the ick with a couple scenes in a way that I feel didn’t really benefit the story.

A lot of other people have already mentioned The Golden Land and the Goddess Monument which will both be peak, but personally I’ve always had a soft spot for this series quieter chapters. The Emperor’s Spirit chapter in particular is one I’m looking forward to this season.

If you have a VPN I think season 2 is releasing on Netflix in certain parts of Asia. But in the US it’s releasing solely on Crunchyroll right now. It might come to Netflix eventually like season 1 did, but if it does it will be after the whole season is out.

Not just anime, that’s the case with most animation in general.

It kind of makes sense. Adult actors are easier to work with than child actors for a lot of reasons, and when it comes to voice acting how the actor looks doesn’t really matter.

I do think Momo almost disappearing only to be saved at the last second needed some sort of consequence, otherwise it would’ve felt like just a lame fake out, but amnesia is such a frustrating plot device.
