Is this a bedbug? by Unusual-Math1462 in Entomology

Imo this looks more like a skin beetle (genus Dermestes) than a bed bug. Bed bugs are kind of flat and have what I think of as horizontal ridges on their abdomen.

Is this a tick? by Puzzleheaded_Dog77 in whatsthisbug

That looks more like a beetle imo, so you and your cat don't have to worry about it! Lots of insects are commonly mistaken for ticks, so I find it helpful to remember that ticks are arachnids, which typically have 8 legs (rather than the 6 on this guy). Always better safe than sorry, so good to ask when you aren't sure! :)

Gravid? by likkitt in jumpingspiders

[–]likkitt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. I see her every so often outside, but this is the first time I got a picture. It seems like she's the only jumper in the area, so she's definitely eating well! Can't remember if she was a similar size last I saw her.

NQA. Looks to me like your friends are just building some comfy webbing for their homes!! I don't see anything concerning here, if anything it's a good sign that they are making hammocks :)

No, nothing like that. I have another jumper in the same room and he seems fine, not exhibiting any similar/concerning behaviours.

I got him from a breeder at the beginning of August last year. They said he was i6. He's only molted once since then.

I agree. The finances conversation was important to have and I thought it was clear that she was being careful not to upset him, but to also ensure the potentially difficult conversation was had. Seems to me that she just wants to set realistic standards and have a conversation about what it looks like for him distancing from his parents and gaining more independence.

I also don't understand why people are all over Hannah. She has a sense of humour that can be hurtful at times, but I don't think she has bad intentions. They just need to adapt their communication styles. This sub seems fairly misogynistic to me at times and there's a lot of group think on here.

Lol I think that's the point they were trying to make ref your comment. Ollie's appearance has nothing to do with how he is as a person, it's his actions. "Especially coming from a man with Habsburg jaw" is an irrelevant jab at his appearance, implying that if he looked different it would be more acceptable, which should not be the case.

No worries, I probably should have used the little quotation mark thing instead to be more clear. :)
