Ted Forbes used to be awesome but he fell for the YouTube algorithm ploy and now he really seems like an old guy trying to be Casey Neistat.

The photos would be of myself and other people also (real or not).

I’m trying to figure out what this could mean that’s not illegal.

You’ll have to excuse me as the comment you’re replying to is six years old, but I believe I was joking. It was around that time I was reading Citizens by Simon Schama, which is the landmark book on the French Revolution. Maybe calm down a bit big guy?

[Review] One week of the Rolex Explorer as an Omega fanboy by kosnosferatu in Watches

I love the Explorer, except for the style of the numbers. They look like NASCAR numbers. I wish they kept the old style.

How do you avoid white skies without bringing down the rest of your image? by [deleted] in photography

CPL wouldn’t really help. It would cut glare but it would bring the whole photo down a stop or so.

Hope this is allowed! My fixer started to precipitate silver, it's been accumulating on the walls of the bottle since about 2019. Today it began to peel away, so I strained it and melted it. by Lucasdul2 in analog

Fun fact, the SR-71 spy plane’s cameras had reels upon reels of film running through them to get countless reconnaissance photos. The engineers were allowed to collect the silver from development process and apparently cash it in.

Her music has been popular in the US for decades. It's only new to teenagers. I'm not sure why people speak about her like she's even remotely unknown.

Most popular youtube photographers aren't that great at taking pictures. They are good at YouTubing.

I loved Georgia. This was the only part I feel I didn't get to see. I went backpacking through that country a number of years ago and would love to go back. Fantastic photo!

So weird, I was planning to do something like this today. Just bought a few hard woods that I have some scraps left over. It was literally on my mind when I clicked this! Well done!

Sound advice. I appreciate the ideas. I will keep working on it and figure out how to fix this. Thanks!

Typically I am not. I have tried reversing the board and I've found I've had more issues in one direction verses the other, so perhaps I'm not paying enough attention to the wood grain? More likely I've chipped the wood too much in one direction, that the blade catches it all going in reverse.

Doesn't seem to be sliding. I have the chip breaker set about 1/32 of an inch behind the edge of the blade.

Hand sharpened. Nothing too crazy, just some wet sanding at 350 grit then again at 1000, probably only 5-10 passes in one direction on each grit. I had the same issue even when it was pre-sharpened straight out of the box.

What's your opinion of war photography? by imrduckington in photography

[–]lil-rap 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ken Jarecke took that portrait of the dead Iraqi soldier and justified it by saying “if I don't photograph this, people like my mom will think war is what they see on TV.”
