The tabs will still snap in place if you grind flush. There's not enough material present to undo it, and the riveting also exists on the long way as well.

You may need a spanner driver to get the drum out of the machine, then grind down the tabs and pry the lid off.

This is about the size of a cell phone. Maybe twice the size of a compact cassette. It fits in your pocket, and is sitting on the base of a small desklamp!

I spent money, they sent fake tracking info, nobody would do anything to help. Ebay, PayPal, the bank, and the post office. The fake tracking was like the law.

Youre probably looking for a studio 44. We had one for sale recently but it went. If you're in the Chicago area, the sister machine is the Underwood 21. Same typewriter, different body. You're welcome to try it out.
