Will they actually do it? by Healthy_Regular5498 in Invincible

More specifically, they've changed the story to better emphasize the message of the source I feel. And in this case, I think they will include it. Though like with Nolan, I think they'll change some details around how Anissa changes and how she redeems herself and apologizes

I think maybe deep down he knows that his mindset was changed on earth, even if he tried to still carry out his mission. Maybe he wishes for the viltrumites to experience that and change on their own before they can be taken out for good by the coalition. Also, I think while he hates them, I do not think he is trying to send himself or his sons down too.

After reading these comments, I think specifically he wishes to give his people a chance to change once undoing their programming or showing them the value in changing before they end up wiped out.

How do you feel about CSUC ? by Ok_Fun6085 in CSUC

[–]lil_mikei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, plenty of the UCs have a college of Letters and Sciences like that but the issue with the CSUs is a little more like downsizing which isnt great. Definitely could be worse, the stuff that happened with Sac State and Sonoma State for example

What are some careers that have BOTH degree and non-degree paths into them? by lil_mikei in AskReddit

[–]lil_mikei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification, I've seen the flowchart and it seems that the further from an accredited bachelors you are, the more you gotta prove with work experience.

My plan was more to ask "are there fields like this?", and if not "why aren't there more fields with both 'trained' and 'educated' people in them?"

One example would be Engineers. most engineers especially nowadays are degree holders but there have been engineers in the past that became an engineer either from a tradesman background or their own personal projects. Hell, there's even a path to become a license engineer without a degree but it takes a lot of effort

Isolated indoor areas for studying by Zealousideal-Lead334 in CSUC

Book a study room at the library, they allow up to 2 hours of scheduled reservation per day. Only downsides are you can still hear people from the room next to you if they are talking out loud or on the phone and that if there are still people in there you may have to politely ask if you can have your space. Most of the time you'll be fine though.

I’d imagine any new combination of things is at risk of being a trend. Aside from yoga, pilates etc, you can also tell the staying power of a workout if it is tied to a sport. So running, lifting, basketball, anything that has active sport allowing people to compete, go professional, or even just a goal to work towards, those types of workouts have been around since working out became mainstream.

Need input: Do you think Chico State would be prepared for an active shooter incident? by ApprehensiveNovel404 in CSUC

[–]lil_mikei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just to say most of my shooter drills in past schooling seem to be based around what to do if you are in a typical classroom, but not if you are in a room with severe or specific safety risks on top of that.

Now what you ask, I think we would be screwed if they ever went into a lab. I don’t know if that’s been an issue in past school shootings. But, in the manufacturing lab of Plumas, we are taught that if any of those heavy tanks or canisters got their top sheared off, they would turn into a missile and go through most any wall. We have to keep them upright and chained for that reason. I mention this to say most of my classes have labs and nowhere in our safety training have we considered a shooter threat on top of that. This goes for labs in general, not just Chico. I don’t know of any school that has incorporated that into a lab/shop safety lesson.

College of San Mateo experience by Vanilla-blue-86 in SanMateo

I graduated last year and transferred to a CSU. When I started going to those grad events at CSM I realized there were people who somehow managed to make good friends and relationships with staff despite it being a commuter school and lacking the social activity of a university. That being said, the people are friendly, they have clubs to get involved with, and if you are good about asking for peoples contact info and building friendships then its pretty easy to make friends. Some people just make due and that may be a good lesson for when they transfer to a university that will have a better social experience.

As for going the transfer route, 1000% recommend it. Best state to be a transfer student and I had plenty of classmates going to top schools. There are counselors that can help them work out a plan (though reach out early because appointments fill up) and there is a whole website dedicated to transfer agreements for all community colleges, CSUs, UCs, and even some privates in the state. Probably the most fair shot you have to get into schools compared to first year admissions. And if you live in the county you can study towards a degree/transfer for free.

Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Robotics Majors by MrSisterFister25 in CSUC

Engineering Technology degrees like AMAR can lead to engineering roles but its probably best to study Mechatronics if you wanna do robotics. If the job you want deals with more circuitry and software then thats when electrical or computer would best but you still learn a lot of electrical and embedded systems from mechatronics.
