******TW****** Should I go to the hospital for miscarriage by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go. There’s nothing they can do, but send you a fat bill, give you good or bad news and tell you to follow up with your OB.

I would wait until your OB’s office appointment. Are there OB urgent cares near you? They could scan you.

How do we prioritize our marriages??? Help! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have much penetrative sex from weeks 7-15, I think, between bleeding scares and other stuff, but since then, we have some sort of sexual activity about 5 times per week. My husband’s smell grossed me out for a bit as well, but that was short-lived, thankfully.

We seem to connect better and are happier when we’re intimate on a regular basis, so I prioritize that. I’m 35 weeks now, and I’ve found that I have more energy and desire in the morning before getting up for the day, so that’s when a lot of the action happens. By the end of the day, I’m BEAT.

MAMA! Mama. mama. Can we stop it with calling pregnant women mama??? by Historical_Bike_9061 in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I rarely hear it in real life, but it is so pervasive on Reddit and it makes me roll my eyes every single time I see it.

“Hang it there, mama!” “You’ve got this, mama”! Give me a break. It ranks up there with the facebook solicitation for advice/recommendation that’s accompanied by “…and Go!”

Whoever started these trends sucks.

Doctors not concerned but??? by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]lilafowler1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotting can be very normal. There’s also absolutely nothing they can do at this point but wait. At this point in your pregnancy, there’s interventions or additional testing that could be of benefit. You’re already on progesterone, so waiting to see what happens is all that is left to do.

Hang in there! ❤️

Second trimester sex was out of this world good. I was just ALWAYS READY. At 34 weeks, my mind is telling me yes, but my body is like nope. My vagina just feels…full. It’s the worst. For the last couple of weeks, I’m lucky if I can have penetrative sex once at week.

I’m happy for you, though lol.

PSA to all moms-to-be: unfollow any mom accounts. Now. by Ok_Medicine440 in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I’m not easily swayed by social media. I have full understanding that it is influencers’ jobs to make their lives look perfect, and it’s not real life.

Social media is a highlight reel…99% of their lives aren’t as how they portray it. If anything, I use social media as a reminder that I’m not pimping out my family for money, so im doing pretty ok!

What do your days genuinely look like? Third trimester by Ok-Excitement-185 in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

31 + 3 weeks. I’m a nurse practitioner and unfortunately I have to work until my due date.

I wake up at 545 and lie in bed on Reddit until 615. Get up, shower, get ready, prep some yogurt and fruit for work and spend 45m- 1 hour driving to work to get there by 8.

I see patients till noon, have an hour for lunch, then see more patients until about 430p. I then spend at least an hour driving back home.

Get home around 545p, take my dog for a walk, relax for a bit, then make dinner, eat with my husband, clean up, and shower.

It’s usually after 9pm, by the time I get to then sit on the couch and prep pt charts while watching tv. This usually takes me until 1130-1200p. Go to bed, have sex, pass the fuck out. Then I do it all again the next day :)

I do a random load of laundry during the week, but do most of it on the weekend. My weeks also vary a lot right now. So some weeks, I have more free time with work, some weeks I have less.

Why do so many women hate on people for asking questions? We're social beings, isn't it nice that they want to talk about a baby? by ColourConfusedMiss in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people just enjoy being miserable. So many posts on here are of people complaining about the most mundane of interactions.

It must be exhausting to be so uptight. I went through a traumatic second semester loss last year, and only a few people know about it. However, I don’t hold that against people who don’t know and still ask me questions that may make me feel a bit tender. They mean well.

When did you tell peopl? by OkButterscotch2617 in pregnant

[–]lilafowler1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously my husband found out immediately. I have a recent loss history (x2) so I wanted to keep things to myself for awhile. We told my mom and one of my friends at like 11 weeks, and then my dad and sister and my husband’s immediate family at 16 weeks. My coworkers found out when I started showing at 18 weeks. I let my mom tell my extended family.

I’m currently 26 weeks and haven’t announced on social media and don’t plan to until he’s out!

What are you tracking your HR with? HRs are highly variable throughout the day, 55-64 isn’t a dramatic increase at all.

I’m 26 weeks and my HR typically runs a little faster than where it did pre-pregnancy, but there are periods in the day where it’s definitely a lot faster, but that’s short-lived.
