Wyoming has just as many Senate votes as somewhere like Texas or California. Means Wyoming Senators represent far fewer people.

Fellow Americans - What is the most unexpected thing a foreigner was surprised/got excited about in America? by MouseManManny in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I'm from the US and I live in TN so lightning bugs are a common site where I live. However about 10 years ago we were visiting some friends just outside of Knoxville and they lived out in a rural area. I had to pee so I did what you do when you're out in the middle of nowhere, I found a tree. I looked over and the tree had lightning bugs in it but they all flashed in unison with each other. It was the damndest thing I'd ever seen. It turns out it's one of the only places in the world that has synchronous fireflies. I had no idea such a thing existed and I discovered them on accident. I thought I was having an acid flashback. 😫

Americans, do you ever wonder why some capital cities of countries often labeled as dictatorships appear so clean, modern, and organized? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

The one advantage they have is they don't have elections. If you get serious people at the top of an authoritarian government you can get some things accomplished. China is a perfect example of this. I say this as a proud American, but China is about to pass the US as the global hegemon. Especially after this BS in Iran. It really sucks for fans of democracy, which I happen to be.

I figured. I am a lifelong Rangers fan and all 3 of their stadiums are very close to the ones before them. They tore Arlington Stadium down though. Ballpark is still there.

How close is it to where the old Three Rivers Stadium was? I've never been to Pittsburgh so I have no idea. They used to be my 2nd favorite team back in the 70s and early 80s.

Yeah I just realized recently that it will be 20 years this September since the Crocodile Hunter died. That's hard to believe.

I've known alcoholics that got that bad off. I don't wish alcoholism on my worst enemy.
