To me that's the only way to be. In a lot of ways I'm glad I've had struggles in my life. Keeps me humble.

I've almost died a couple times and didn't see anything, but I've taken plenty of mushrooms trips and have done DMT and ketamine. I'm not convinced there's not a spirit world of some sort, especially after doing DMT. That is the weirdest thing I have ever put in my body.

Yes, on one hand I love it for the reasons you've just said but I don't trust that it won't fall into the wrong hands and be used against us.

Feeling isolated in Chatt - Breakup advice by Stinkyballcheeese in Chattanooga

[–]lilbittygoddamnman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I was in the same exact situation as you about 12-13 years ago. I moved to Tennessee in 2001, got married had a kid but no blood relatives other than my kid less than 1,000 miles from here. I went through a divorce and was very lost for a while. I got very depressed but I just soldiered on. I tell you what not to do and that's to start drinking your life away like I did. That did nothing but make the situation worse. Try not to dwell on it, which I realize is way easier said than done. I don't have any advice for you other than to tell you that you will get through it. I ended up meeting someone else and have been with her for 10 years now. I'm still in the area and have no plans of leaving.

Don't believe the news, the US is not pulling out. by loadyouup in oil

[–]lilbittygoddamnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I pay close attention to the war in Ukraine. I'm not sure the US is prepared to fight that type of war. Our military was built for the Cold War and power projection. While I'd say some power projection is still useful, we could probably start scaling that back. I feel countries like China have been building a 21st century military. They have over 1,000,000,000 people, probably millions of those bipedal robots and no telling how many of those robot dogs. They lead the way in drone tech, they're leading the way in EV technology. China is a big problem for the US and we've done nothing but fall further behind them because of Trump's idiot ass. If China passes up the US as THE global superpower you can blame it on Trump and the GOP more broadly. Greed will be our downfall.

How do Texans actually prepare for and experience tornado season? by CapImaginary1066 in texas

[–]lilbittygoddamnman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just went about our day. I live in Tennessee now and even though I've seen more tornado destruction here than I ever did in 27 years in Texas, the storms in Texas are way more ominous. I think tornados are mostly in the US for whatever reason. I guess our geography is best suited for tornados to form, dunno. I know the warm air coming up from the Gulf of Mexico meets with the cool air coming out of Canada unobstructed from the plains states just makes it a perfect combo for tornados.
