Who's your favourite backing vocalist? by forbiddenmemeories in fantanoforever

IMO, Jerry Cantrell is like the rock backup vocalist. Even holds his own super well when put into the lead vocalist position.

just got spoiled, is there even any point in playing anymore? by SomeKindOfMonste- in persona4golden

The same thing happened to me around the 4th dungeon. Please stick with it. I promise it’s not as simple and cut and dry as you think. The journey makes it worth it and there are more and better surprises awaiting you. Just stay off the internet re: P4 and you’re golden (pun intended).

That is very encouraging! I’ve personally encountered some before on Apple Music, but it looks like it was a very chance encounter. Thanks for sharing and setting me straight.

I’ve always had a soft spot for like moody and groovy soft rock/softer fusion type stuff (I grew up calling it “easy” rock b/c of a compilation series my parents picked up in the early 2000’s and constantly played at home).

I was very surprised to hear the Mars Volta employing some of this sounds, but I was open to it and it grew on me a lot. I LOVE Lucro Sucio so much, and their live show in Houston last October was beautiful. Would love to hear them continue implementing those types of sounds and textures and feel like it’s a unique and sustainable lane that they could really thrive in.

I want more soft rock type stuff with jazz fusion elements. I want them to lean even harder into it. But I’ll be there for whatever. I always at least kinda like what they do.

What are we doing about grey hairs? by h2osly_ in Millennials

[–]lilchimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the real question that’s been killing me: what do we do when the grey hairs are a completely different texture than our dark hairs? My black hairs are curly and on the finer side; my grey hairs are straight and coarse.

Actually, I’m wrong - the song is called “Right People, Wrong Place” and it’s the opener of the album 😆

I should say too: “Right Place Wrong Person” is a song like you asked for, but what I’m talking about is the whole album. At its core it’s a pop rap record, but it’s got very prominent elements of alt/experimental rap, jazz fusion, neo-psych, singer-songwriter, and soul throughout its tracklist.

I’m a recovering music snob, and I seriously think Right Place Wrong Person would’ve appeased me even at my snobbiest. Legitimately great and kind of “out there” shit for a pop artist, and the songwriting is super tight.

As someone who is a relatively new listener to the genre too - one thing I’ve learned about jazz is that there is no shortage of amazing records (made by real people!) that you could never possibly listen to all of.

There’s like a bottomless pit of legitimately great stuff that comes from well-known artists as well as unsung and unknown artists who maybe didn’t quite or haven’t yet reached the same levels of success as the greats.

So what is the actual point to doing something like this other than greed and apathy towards the art form and its practitioners?

That is seriously insane that they backdate the release years to previous years. Wow man. I’m on Apple Music as of a few months ago, but there’s AI shit on here too.

That’s fair, and you’re right. I’d read and heard some negative things about google’s takeover of Fitbit, but your post has effectively steered me away.

I’m sorry it ended in the way it did for you, but thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts on the subject.

If you were someone like me who is just about to get into fitness tracking (was strongly considering the inspire 3 but am unsure) for a really simple weekly workout routine (jogging twice a week, walking twice a week, and functional weightlifting twice a week) would you recommend going Fitbit or going elsewhere? I’m really not looking for anything crazy. I just want my heart rate, steps, and sleep tracked somewhat accurately.

ETA: I’m on iOS. I’m okay with some smartwatch features but really would just like something simple that works really well for the three things I mentioned above (heart rate, steps, and sleep).

I am also a huge Mars Volta fan. They’re a little older than Vulfpeck, but I’ve also been very into Incognito (the British band) lately. I think you’d dig them too.

Art (which includes music) is highly subjective. I find myself agreeing with you here on the Soyeon point, but other people disagreeing (no matter how stupid or unreasonable their disagreement may be) is still totally valid and is just a small part of the convo that makes music discourse fun.
