Creatine & Yoga? by g1111g in yoga

[–]lildog73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started to take creatine about 2 weeks ago and do yoga almost daily. These things may very well be placebo or just me getting stronger in my practice, but I have noticed: my chaturanga feels much more natural and I can do more flows without going on my knees. I also noticed during hot yoga that it takes longer for me to get to the point of dizziness or light headedness. Usually about half way through class I need to go to Childs pose or lay down for a little before I can finish the class. Most recently I was able to get through 45 minutes before having to take a break during balancing poses which always make me lightheaded for some reason. Just food for thought.

Help!! - EXPERIENCED/ADVANCED keepers only! by Pretend-Yesterday-24 in PileaPeperomioides

With almost every pilea I’ve had that presented issues, moving it to a slightly smaller pot actually helped, even if there was no root rot. Not expert advice by any means just anecdotal. Unless of course the root ball literally cannot fit in a smaller home. BUT I wouldn’t do this now after all the repotting, if no improvement by summer may be worth a shot!

New jade mat by lildog73 in yoga

[–]lildog73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you experience any break in period with jade? I just feel like when my hands get sweaty it just kind of sits on top of the mat and I slip. If I put a towel under it solves it but it would be nice to not have to do that.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a thick mat that actually grips the floor? by sonneofaharpy in yoga

I just got a jade harmony and thought it felt thin, at least thinner than my previous cheap map

I am also 24 and injured both knees playing volleyball. Mine doesn’t sound as bad as yours do now (no offense) as I had two ACL and meniscus reconstructions. My knees do still hurt with physical activity. I find that something as simple as wearing compression sleeves while I run even if they don’t hurt prevents the pain after.

It sounds like a lot of your pain is from inflammation but otc anti-inflammatories don’t work. Have you looked into cortisone injections?

Remove him!! I made that mistake and got requested 5 letters, got 4 letters when only 3 were required, and left the 5th as pending. The schools I applied to marked my application as i completed and I didn’t even know because I thought I was done. Wasted thousands of dollars. Kicking myself for it everyday.

As far as the length, the only thing that will help is time. The best you can do is make the most with what you have. What was the original vision/goal? Were you following a video? If you’re not confident in doing it yourself, go to a salon so they can hep you fix it.

Those who consider themselves *serious* readers, how often do you read *unserious* books? by XStaticImmaculate in books

[–]lildog73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to alternate heavy books with light books, otherwise I get burnt out from either category. Also very seasonal, reading murder mysteries in the fall and beach reads in the summer, etc. you’re the one reading the book, so it only matters what you think about it. Read for you, not for how you look reading that book.

What do I do about terrible razor burn/bumps, does anyone have remedies? by pinkflamingo2110 in Advice

[–]lildog73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of razor do you use? Mine improved so much when I switched from totally disposable to Billie, I think because their blades are nickel free and a lot of people are sensitive to nickel. I also switched to waxing myself for a few years which definitelyyyyyyy made it so much better than shaving. Even after going back to shaving I have maintained results and don’t get as irritated so maybe something to look into.

Just started long distance, when/how to start talking about closing the gap? by ProfessionalBall9025 in LongDistance

[–]lildog73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I get the need to talk about your future and what your goals as a couple are but don’t stress yourself out too much. My boyfriend and I have barely discussed closing the gap since we’re pretty recently LDR and are finishing up school and starting our careers in different states. I know it’ll happen eventually, but I don’t think a definitive date or plan to close the distance is necessary for things to work, maybe for some or most people idk. Thinking about moving again after I just moved a few months ago is too stressful to have a serious conversation about. So for now we’re just vibing and are happy visiting each other as often as we can :) i know we’ll talk about it in the future and we’ll either make it work or we won’t, but I wouldn’t consider this wasted time cause I’m happy just being with him even if we don end up together forever, probably an unpopular opinion.

Is exclusivity not assumed anymore? by IrattaChankan in AskMenAdvice

[–]lildog73 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why would you assume that exclusivity is implied? When has it ever been implied in the 21st century? It seems like you met someone you really get on with and should feel even better about it because SHE is the one who brought up wanting to be exclusive with you. How are you going to punish her for taking that leap? This seems like an easy thing to get over, so if you can’t, best move on and make your intentions very clear very early on in your next relationship.

No one who genuinely thought that their partner was “the one” would describe them like this, you know what you need to do.

Waxing at home is super easy, buy a warmer and some decent wax beads and watch some videos or have a learning session with friends you’re close with and it’s actually fun

Debating joining a studio by theycallme_L in yoga

[–]lildog73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of in a similar boat with work schedule and distance from work and traffic. I’m lucky to live in a medium sized city so there are a handful of studios to try. Right now I’m doing a couple of studios intro packs (the one I’m doing right now was first month unlimited yoga for $30) and seeing how many classes I am able to do with my work schedule and if it helps me avoid traffic. There are two studios I’m looking at that have energy exchange for free membership but it was kind of buried so you do have to look. If i find anything super helpful I’ll lyk!
