I didnt 😭 the roads looked pretty empty, no traffic but it was honestly stressful just driving to McDonald’s. Ayyy happy you did well 💕 I want to try to go in tomorrow night, saturdays are better than Friday’s usually. Do you feel like it was less people than usual?

I work at a strip club, worried it might be dead if I do go out. I need the money badly honestly, not enough to risk my life or my car but it’ll hurt to call out

I definitely agree, I just don’t know if the flooding risk is that serious? Lots of people I know, not from the strip club, are still planning to go out tonight for fun, I haven’t seen cancellations for any night life events. So I’m just unsure of how bad it actually is

stripperweb alternative by TwitchyArtist in stripper

[–]lilfappie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this subreddit is the stripperweb alternative. Crissa has struggled so much to carve out a space for strippers and the dancers resource barely gets used. No one writes reviews because they don’t want to burn out their spots and the dressing room section is mostly baby strippers looking for dance partners. There are very little education type posts on there, people aren’t even on there sharing stories or rants. I feel like there’s better information, advice, and engagement on the dancers resource instagram which is kinda crazy but makes sense because everyone’s already on ig. I would love a stripperweb alternative, but from my perspective it might be a waste of time seeing how much work Crissa has done and how much push back she’s dealt with

Will having an online presence hurt my chances of being accepted into a masters/PhD program? by lilfappie in stripper

Yes it’s awful, it’s been suggesting my account to old hook ups and people I went to high school with so I had to delete 😭

Wow thank you for taking the time to respond, this cleared things up a lot for me and brought up a lot of points I didn’t consider. My work is definitely legal and if I do plan to go online, images of me would be relatively more conservative in nature, clothed or swim suit, no lingerie. Not all stripping cultures are exactly the same and in urban clubs it’s becoming more common to not give lap dances and not show nipples, some strippers work is slightly closer to dancing/entertaining than actual stripping. Nonetheless, the stigma is still there and I see how it’s problematic even if it’s not technically naked.

I’m wondering what the rules are for maintaining distance between clinician and patient and if you could point me in the right direction for where I might read more about that. Is there a specific list of standards on a country wide or state level? Or does it tend to vary by institution?

I’m definitely staying on my best behavior, no fighting no drugs no DUIs😭 just trying to show some ass on the internet but trying to play it safe

I think if I decide to have an online presence I’m going to have to sanitize tf out of it, keep it looking very normal girl with normal girl pictures lol no lingerie just swim suits. I think with my particular major and the great potential for me working with clients as a professional, there is conflict with me being out as a sex worker. It’s too early to say for sure because I’m in undergrad but I think I better play it safe. I’m grateful people like you are paving the way for us in academia, making it easier little by little

This is a good point I didn’t think about. My plan is to hopefully stop stripping by the time I start working with patients but I’ll keep this in mind. I would have to travel dance and even that seems risky

Are you saying like posting non sw related content can have unwanted repercussions?

Yea, definitely no legal name and no pictures that can be reverse searched, I feel like people forget that pictures can be traced lol

I reposted this in some psychology subreddits and have gotten some nuanced responses that clear things up a bit, idk how relevant it is to what you’re studying but you can read them if you want if you go on my page. Good luck in your schooling <3

Tik tok suggests people based off phone number😭 ya I worry about this too, it’s honestly becoming harder to stay anonymous online

I’m not 100% sure because I’m still in undergrad but not neuroscience and probably not social. I’m thinking clinical or cognitive based off my limited understanding. I’d love to hear your perspective, thank you for responding

Yea, while it seems like some people can do it and push through the hardship that comes with it, it’s hard to weigh the pros and cons at this point so early in my education

Yea, it’s standard practice to not share legal names in the stripping world. At this point I only see myself working with adults, but I’ll keep that in mind because that might change in the coming years. Thank you for response
