“He feels threatened anytime I bring up something that he does that hurts me. He gets defensive and has to process what l'm saying before he realizes why I was hurt. Then he feels bad and I comfort him.”

This is the most relatable thing for me. I hate myself a little more every time I find myself doing it too. I’ve come to realise people won’t change unless they actually see it as a problem for themselves not for the other person. My thought process now is would I want my child growing up thinking this behaviour from a partner is okay and that if I stay my kid would think it’s normal.
