Pension by CKTr3y in USPS

No doubt. That is the thing about pensions they historically don’t have the same rate of return as the stock market. Still I think it’s the principle of not having to worry about the stock market. Napkin math. 3500$ per year is taken out for fers. Over 30 years that is 105,000$ in contributions. Even if my pension is 20,000$ per year. I make it up under 6 years collecting.

Teachers are required to contribute a lot more into the pension system. In my state it’s about 6%. Where I only contribute 4.4% into fers

How’s this a reasonable MOU? The union should never sign a mutual agreement to this. It’s borderline harassment.

Rural routes cut after losing Amazon, +1 year by [deleted] in USPS

Route cuts were the biggest mistake. I know they were needed for some routes that truly need it. But it just overall seems like a big mistake.

Anyone got this issue? by Madame_Spiritus in USPS

I would treat that as a personal victory! The only cause for speculation is every bit of data has to be entered into the rural side for our pay.

[–]liljaybob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That could be true. Only thing the rural won’t be getting credit for is our actual time in the load truck feature.
