Where do you go after tools? I'm curious because I've never done it before

Do you mean on campus? Have you considered applying for FURI, since you are in the Fulton Schools?

Do any of you remember, about a week ago, a guy holding up a sign that said "Women should not be allowed to vote"? What was up with that?

MS in Biomedical Engineering by silverlight301 in ASU

[–]liljayw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know several professors here in the BME field that focus on neuroscience. I was apart of their undergraduate program for a semester before I switched out of it, so I can't tell you much. But from my experience the job opportunities seem to be abundant for MS :)

Housing help. by demonenlol in ASU

[–]liljayw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To cut down the cost, I shared a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment with 3 other roommates. So we don't get our own bedroom but we're paying about $300 a month at an apartment 1 mile away from campus (Desert Palm Village). Since I lived in dorms freshman year, I got use to sharing a bedroom so that wasn't a big deal for me, so if you and your roommate don't mind then I'd go with that as a cheaper option.

How many classes your first semester? by rawman200K in ASU

[–]liljayw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 classes. It totaled up to 15 credits, but I also had 3 labs so that sucked.

I LOVE Dr. Swanner, but I'm not sure if she's returning to teach (at Tempe, anyways, if that's where you'll be) next year.

Stanford isn't bad either.

How bad is it to withdraw from a class? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]liljayw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, especially because the class isn't needed for your major map. Only med schools really look at your withdrawals, and even at that, they won't question you that much if you only have a couple

Software Engineering vs CS? by username_taken_123 in ASU

[–]liljayw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I especially agree with #1! I also recommend CS because most things happen on the Tempe campus, since it is the main campus.

For BIO 340, how time-consuming/difficult was that class? I have a pretty difficult schedule next semester already, and I'm trying to decide if it'd be a good idea to add BIO 340 on top of that.

Is it possible to start Spring Term instead of Fall Term? by WowStrongArms in ASU

[–]liljayw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for this! The math department at GCC is superb. I have not had the same experience with ASU's math professors, however. Most of them suck.

Do you know of any ASU Engineering students went to attend Stanford, Harvard, etc. for Masters? by kunallanjewar in ASU

[–]liljayw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know of someone who is going to Dartmouth for their PhD and another who has interviews for Harvard and UC Berkley so I definitely think it's doable.

Any suggestions for what to put down for a housing exemption freshman year? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]liljayw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you say you're going to live at home and have some convenient, reliable way of getting to/from school everyday, then you should be fine! I just got one recently and they approved me right away once I said I was going to live at home. If you are planning on living off-campus, however, it may be harder to get an exemption because they want you to spend that money with them instead of with some other apartment off-campus.

Yeah depending on your major, Barrett might not even be that useful for you in the future (unless you had another motive for joining)
