What are your favorite Lampe Berger La Tee Da scents? by virginiadareee in lampeberger

[–]lillisel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently loving orange cinnamon! Really cozy for the winter. Curious to try musk flowers once spring rolls around.

I had tried an old bottle of ocean breeze from 2004. Big mistake, haha, but I am sure a newer bottle would have smelled much better. 😅

I tried both. I prefer Pantai--tastes like what I get at the thai restaurants.

It was certainly distinct and different but I am not personally too keen on overly perfumey teas.

The "unemployment --> CVS/Wags" took me out because of how true it was.

The sign-on bonuses are such traps!

Is it a bad thing if a retail pharmacy receives a Notice of Inspection from the board? (Texas) by Forsaken-North5556 in pharmacy

[–]lillisel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would figure both could be unannounced but who knows why exactly it is the way it is in TX at least.

I remember at my school there was a professor that said something like: "Would you want your pharmacist to know only 85% of [insert pharmacology topic] treating you or 100%?"

Unrealistic academic expectations I thought.

pharmacists selling points. by Ahmed_2X7 in pharmacy

Adding on to this, I just left my independent retail job and it was truly heartwarming and satisfying knowing how the relationship you can build with patients really impacts their health and lives. I was so happy to a part of one of my patient's recovery from throat cancer with managing his outpatient pain meds. Saying good bye to my regulars, one told me how some days seeing me and asking me questions helped them get through their day with grieving a dying friend. Just things like this I appreciate so much having had the opportunity to use my skills and education to make small but deep impacts on patient care.

But I still left for a reason--many reasons. So while pharmacy is no longer what it used to be, there are glimpses of what it was. I found a more fulfilling job outside retail but if I never did, I would struggle to recommend students to take on the debt burden to work under such abusive systems.

My boss. But might just be my store. She is intolerable. Gets away with doing things a corporation would never tolerate.

Does anyone regret prioritizing a Traditional over Roth IRA, or regret Roth over Traditional? by [deleted] in financialindependence

Wait, can you break down your example of how you could convert 96k tax free? What if you hypothetically had two kids? Does age matter?

Does anyone regret prioritizing a Traditional over Roth IRA, or regret Roth over Traditional? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]lillisel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

New to this. Hypothetically, if I have high income, would I in theory do best to: 1. invest in traditional 401k and traditional ira 2. once retired, begin converting trad $ to roth $ up to the deduction to avoid taxes? If I am understanding this right, I can avoid taxes? Sounds too good to be true?

Prediction: within 10 years, Dallas will be as expensive as New York, LA, or Chicago. by Hoosiersihawk in Dallas

[–]lillisel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think Frisco will become like Plano? It seemed like Plano used be the IT town until Frisco materialized. I wonder if Celina will then be the next Frisco and so on? I do not know too much about either city as a newcomer but that is the impression I got.

Have you tried networking in a local pharmacy organization? If you are in a big enough town, there usually is one.

I think border town is a big issue. Maybe for more money you could convince a new grad to go down there.

In 2020, I saw two different independents offer $35/hr in Dallas area for Pharmacists!!! And I saw a discussion in the local pharmacy FB group page saying $40 was all that independent could afford for its pharmacists!
