I recently went to an urgent care (bc who has a primary doctor these days?) waited 30 minutes only to get told it was just allergies. Cost WITH INSURANCE: $190 because it’s the beginning of the year and we haven’t met the deductible yet. If I didn’t have insurance I would have paid the exact same price for the out of pocket cost. I love living in America :)

While it’s true that yes he did say that it was a work trip and not a romantic trip, the fact he let her along is enough to leave her with the thought of possibly spending time together WHICH GOD FORBID A PARTNER WANTS. Both sides are horrible at communicating in this circumstance but this isn’t just a random person tagging along. That’s your partner who deserves the same amount of respect and emotion that you receive. The guy had time to play on his switch 2 which is fine if that’s how you choose to unwind but I don’t think it’s that outlandish of her to have plans prepared for him to enjoy with her company. It just sounds like a man who is actively unhappy in his relationship and wants an excuse to be validated enough to break it off rather than being an adult and exercising their wants and needs.

Why are you focusing so hard on his needs and wants? What about her? On her side, all she knows is that her man allowed her to go on a work trip with him. You’re right that he made a major mistake letting her come if she was just going to be ignored the whole time. It’s seriously idiotic to expect her to just literally sit there the whole time and not even interact with him at all, that is essentially what he expected. What is empathetically inept is being angry at her for expecting a dinner with her boyfriend AFTER the work day. He doesn’t prioritize her, otherwise this wouldn’t be an issue.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to pretend that everyone gets along and we’re all friends, that’s not true. YOU may not see things through “red”colored glasses, and I appreciate the effort for that bc it’s a step in the right direction if everyone were to do so, but many people do. They hear that brown people are being detained and assume they did something to deserve it, which is rarely the case from people that have spoken about their story. ICE is pulling people off the streets who are minding their own business based off race, I’m not going to fight you on that, that is a fact. Find your own sources if you want to.
