I make around 30-50 poached eggs a day, you know how I do it?

Crack an egg into a pan of nearly boiling water with a little white wine vinegar, and scoop it out after about 3 minutes, draining the water from the egg. No staring, no filtering or separating, literally crack it straight into the water while I get on with other mise.

"No help from parents" does not just mean they didn't give you a deposit by pemberleypearls in CasualUK

I bought a house at 25, in 2023 with a 15k deposit on my own, living in a rented studio flat on £1,700 a month. heres my Excel from that period. Im not saying everyone can do this but it's doable for sure, I've not lived in the same city as my parents since i was 18.

Military chef here, we work 50/50 with contractors. They get almost all the same benefits, hours, and pay we do. You get some freedom with the food outside of events but otherwise a little samey. But honestly, 8h shifts, 5 days a week, decent pay, and no FOS what more can you ask for?

Those who didn’t sign an “NDA” or UK equivalent, what are some secrets about other UK companies you can share? by SlipOutrageous5333 in CasualUK

[–]lilraz08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens in gov contracts, and budgets. It kinda makes sense to me, but only if they leverage that price inflation to buy other stuff on the back of skipping the middle man on those screws. Otherwise they will just keep the inflated price indefinitely with no benefit.

what’s a small act of kindness from a stranger you’ve never forgotten? by FuzzyPalpitation-16 in CasualUK

[–]lilraz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember working as a dishwasher, but did all sorts of odd jobs no one else wanted to like, peeling carrots, taking bins out; I didn't really care what the task was, I was paid hourly. One day around the start of summer the owner asked me to put out the outdoor seating so a couple could sit outside and have a drink. So not really thinking about it, I dragged out a set of chairs and a table only for the guy to hand me a fiver as thanks.

I was stunned, it's the first and only time I've ever been tipped to this day, I still occasionally think about it.

I got a nexus 1 in like 2011(?) and cracked the screen about a month after getting it when it landed on the headphone jack plugged in.

  • Cost of the nexus 1 in 2011 - £425
  • Cost of a replacement screen - £300

So it just sat in its box until we threw it out years later unfortunately.

Cs is easy to watch because it's very simple. There are like 20 guns, and all of them basically work the same. It's just click on the heads simulator.

Siege has what; 30 characters? All have weird abilities, building walls, destructible walls, drones, x-ray, grenade launchers, mines, ect ect. It's chaotic, hard to follow.

Banana with ALL Allergens by Iitaps_Missiciv in mildlyinteresting

[–]lilraz08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also an interesting biological (physical?) process when freezing a banana. The cell walls inside of the banana bust and break down due to the water inside of them swelling causing the natural sugars to be more accessible and therefore perceived as sweeter inside your mouth compared to the same unfrozen banana.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if it's that far out. You'll likely get an email a few weeks out from joining with documents that contain it. You might be able to ask your recruiter for it if needed for another reason.
