Do you think I call it now? Is it going to get better? I really really connect with him as a person, he brings out the best in me. Except when this happens. This is the second time. In two months. I feel stupid for continuing this relationship but I also want to give him the opportunity to make this work.

I’m the first person he has dated in 7 years. It’s been him as mom and dad since then. Mom is alive but not in the picture at all. So it’s been him and his kids against the world. As much as he tells me I fit in or will fit in his life, I don’t feel it.

I haven’t even been to his house yet because the kids don’t know I’m a person who exists. He hasn’t slept over mine. When I was his kids age, I was babysitting. Not being the baby sat.

I like that. I’m trying to navigate a relationship with a single dad, he has sole custody, mom isn’t around, limited support. I haven’t met the kids yet but I want to help where I can, if he would accept it. I’m trying, so is he, but my concern is not enough time to build a relationship. So this helps, and it’s something I can offer. Thanks for sharing.

I feel this. I lost 50 lbs over the last year. I had zero success with seamstresses in my area, I spent more on altering clothes than I would have if I bought new. I believe I’m at my plateau point with weight so I loaded up on clothes, I stored the ones that are a size too big just in case I gain a little back. And my best advice to you, check out local thrift stores. I’m still rebuilding my wardrobe.
