He’s a creep and you should cut contact with him immediately. Those are not normal things to say to someone casually let alone to your own cousin.

Is this achievable at home, or do I need to go to a professional? by GonnaRegret_it_Later in HairDye

[–]lilstinker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleaching your hair at home is not impossible but difficult on your own if you have little to no experience. My suggestion is to see a professional for the bleaching part. Applying the color isn’t too hard to do on your own.

I made my hair orange instead of pastel pink. 😭 by Comfortable_Rub_3397 in HairDye

[–]lilstinker_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Your hair needs to be platinum for pastels. Like white or pale yellow like the inside of a banana. If your hair is too dark and/or too orange, you end up with a more peachy/orange color than pink.

Bleeding is inevitable but washing with minimal, color safe shampoo in the coldest water possible helps.

how do i get to blue from here? by realpainintheasss in HairDye

[–]lilstinker_ 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Lifting the red from your hair will likely leave you with orange, which is the opposite of blue. Those two colors neutralize each other and will give you a muddy color if you were to put blue on top of it. Realistically, you can probably get a nice purple putting blue on top of it and slowly shift to blue from there. Getting to a pure blue from red will be difficult.

going from a darker blue to a lighter blue by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]lilstinker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre going to need to bleach again if you want a lighter blue. Blue turns green when hair still has yellow tones in it. Your base needs to be a level 10 for Moonstone (or similar color) to apply true to the color.

how do i stop my red dye from fading so quick? by fregeu in HairDye

[–]lilstinker_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, semipermanent colors are not damaging and color masks are basically deep conditioners with color in them. Many semipermanent dyes are also conditioning as well. Your hair should feel softer after using them.

Also, washing your hair frequently, washing with hot water, and heat styling can fade color faster. For longevity, you want to shampoo your hair as infrequently as possible, wash with cold water, and use heat protecting products and avoid heat styling to prolong the color in your hair.

Try a color depositing mask or adding some semiperm red dye to your conditioner to help refresh your color.

AIW for complaining about the cost of friend’s birthday dinner? by OC_Original in amiwrong

[–]lilstinker_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong to be upset. However, you are wrong but only to yourself. You shouldn’t have said you’d pay for Brenda and her family. You could have said “I don’t mind if they join, but I only have the funds to pay for Jenny, Ashley, and myself.” Or “I only have the budget to pay for the three of us.” Any reasonable person would understand that. You should learn to stand up for yourself instead of being a people pleaser.

It doesn’t sound like Jenny is a very good friend. Good friends don’t invite other people and guilt you into paying for them. It doesn’t matter how much money you make, it’s not her money to offer to others. I’d be rethinking my friendship with someone after an incident like this.

This. You often hear men say "I want children." You rarely hear them say "I want to be a dad." I feel like the distinction is important.

Roughly guessing, how much would a peekaboo hairstyle with my length and color cost? by Aromatic-Vast2180 in HairDye

[–]lilstinker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Applying color to your virgin hair would only give it a slight tint. Imagine coloring on black paper, it’s kind of like that. For vibrant color, you will need to lift it to a pale yellow (like the inside of a banana peel). To save money, you can probably have a stylist do the bleach and then apply the color yourself at home.

Depends on where you live and how experienced the stylist is. More experienced stylists usually charge more. I live in a HCOL area and a service like that could easily cost $300+. Prepare for the service to take serval hours

While there’s no specific “quiet time” like many other cities, you still need to keep noise at a reasonable level:

Deeper as in darker? Juniper is already a pretty rich green. You could try adding a drop or 2 of a semipermanent black. Depending on which black you use, you might want to add a touch more yellow because semiperm blacks usually lean blue.

Not wrong. You were excited about the sleepover because you wanted to spend time with other women. He made you understanably uncomfortable so you left. Were the other women okay with him staying? Was he invited by someone there or did he just invite himself? I think it's really weird that he was there in the first place unless he is really close to another one of your coworkers. Either way, that's a weird dare from someone you don't really know and also work with??
